BMW is in process of recalling the year 2009 models of its SUV BMW X5 and BMW X6 which were manufactured by the company in the USA between 14 December 2009 and 16 December 2009.

The reason for this recall is the potentially rear brake disc defect which in an emergency situation might reduce the performance of the brakes and could even break the disc in extreme conditions resulting in a crash as the stopping distance will increase eventually.

No information has been disclosed by BMW as how the company would deal with such a problem and the solution or when the customers are expected to receive a recall notice, but we expect that the problem fades away soon.
