Chevrolet India (General Motors India) in collaboration with REVA Electric car will be launching an electric version of the Chevrolet Spark called the “E-Spark” a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) in October 2010. The price of E-Spark will be approx Rs 7 lakh. Manufacturing of E-Spark will be proposed at GM’s Talegaon plant in Maharashtra, with battery technology from electric car company REVA.
BEV (E-Spark) is based on current spark platform, a 4 door hatchback with automatic-transmission. The Chevrolet Electric Spark (E-Spark) is equipped with Driver Display System which displays most vital signals on dashboard enabling better & safe driving.
E-Spark also has Intelligent Energy Management System & Regenerative Brake System to ensure proper charging of batteries & charge the battery while applying brakes.
The E-Spark is propelled by electric AC Motor, E-Spark has two driving modes Regular & Boost mode which can be engaged on demand of high power/torque by high torque AC motor.
