Tata Nano is one car in the world which has created a new segment of small cars. Recent announcement by Bajaj Nissan And Renault alliance about their Ultra Low Cost car proves that other players want to capture a slice of this segment too. Geely, the Chinese Automaker which already sells cars in China, Eastern Europe and Russia is going to make this revolutionary small and affordable car called the Geely IG. The cost of Geely IG will be kept around Rs. 1.3 Lakhs when converted to Indian currency.
Geely IG Features
Geely will be a 2 door, 4 seater car with very limited space at the back seats. Unlike Tata Nano which is meant to carry 4 adult passengers comfortably , Geely IG will not seat rear passengers so comfortably. Yes it will be cheaper than the Nano and will be more powerful too. It will also be launched in Electric Variant.
Geely IG Specifications
Geely IG will be launched initially with a 998 CC MPFI petrol engine. The Max Power of IG will be around 70 BHP with an impressive torque of about 90 Nm. The engine will be coupled with a 5-speed automatic transmission CVT gearbox. The petrol version will be launched in the year 2012.
Geely IG Electric Variant will have a lithium ion battery and a max power of about 80BHP and a wonderful torque of about 175 Nm. The range of Geely IG EV will be around 150 Km on a full charge.
Geely IG Price
Geely IG petrol variant will be priced between £1500 and £2000.
