Geneva Motor Show – Spacious And Powerful Proton Hybrid City Concept Car Family

Italdesign Giugiaro the Italian design house has developed a family of cars for Proton which are designed specifically for cities and are based on Lotus-developed hybrid powertrain which is yet to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2010.

The family ranges from three to five-door hatchbacks, along with a mini-SUV version which has a better ground clearance and coming to accommodation the hatch can take 4 while the SUV 5 passengers at a time which is the end result of removal of B-pillars.


Specifications of Proton City Car Family

The Italian Design house claims to have offered more leg and knee room found equivalent to a C or D-segment car like a Ford Focus along with raised driving position of an SUV. Dimension wise the car is 3550mm in length and a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine that can run on petrol, ethanol or methanol using a range-extender drivetrain. The same engine provides power to the batteries provided underneath the floor and the electric motor is fitted at the back imparting power to the rear wheels.
