Nissan has revealed is global small car called Nissan Micra at the Geneva Motor Show 2010, the car is claimed to be most cost competitive and high on quality by the Manufacturer Nissan. It will also be manufactured locally at the Chennai Plant in India. It will be assembled at 4 locations globally- India, Thailand, Mexico and China.
The car will be sold globally with a 1.2 Litre, 3 Cylinder MPFI Petrol Engine which produces 80 PS Max power and 108 Nm of impressive max torque.
Because of local production in India Nissan Micro will be very cost competitive in Indian market and will be priced between Rs. 4 Lakh and Rs. 5 Lakh. This competitive price is also possible because of tax benefits on small cars in India. The car is assumed to give a tough competition to the existing small car market which is mainly captured by Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai in India.
Nissan has plans to produce a large number of units of Micra, Indian plant in collaboration with Renault will can produce about 40000 Micra cars every year.
Nissan Micra is spacious on Interiors and has a compact feel from outside because of its rounded and sleek design. That car can seat a maximum of 5 people including the driver. The car is easy to drive and comfortable in terms of ergonomics. Micra is expected to start selling in Indian starting April 2010.

Price of the car is not officially declared yet, but it is expected to be between Rs. 4 Lakh and Rs 5 Lakh considering the vehicle and engine size.
