Nissan recently took the wraps off the Nissan Kicks small SUV in Brazil. The Brazilian and Indian car markets are similar in many ways and share a lot of models from major manufacturers. The new Kicks small SUV will be one of those models. However, it won’t be landing in India anytime soon as Nissan is yet to announce a right-hand drive version. Nissan Kicks small SUV will be the official car for the 2016 Olympics that will be held in Rio de Janerio. Read on to find out more details about the Nissan Kicks India launch, price, and more.
Nissan Kicks India Launch
As we mentioned earlier, don’t expect the Nissan Kicks to come to India for at least another 12-15 months. Although a production spec model was showcased recently, it has left-hand drive. For India, the Japanese manufacturer will have to develop the right-hand drive variant first. Nissan Kicks will be the official car of the 2016 Olympics.
Datsun redi-GO launch now withstanding, Nissan will be shifting its focus towards the GT-R and X-Trail India launch this year. The Japanese auto giant might launch the Kicks small SUV in India by the end of 2017 or early 2018.

Nissan Kicks India Specifications
In India, the Nissan Kicks is likely to come with the same 1.5-litre diesel that powers the Nissan Terrano. The 84 bhp guise could be given a miss and only the 108 bhp version could be used. Latin American market gets a 1.6-litre petrol with the choice of either a 5-speed manual or a CVT. With petrol powered cars gaining traction once again, it is highly likely Nissan will introduce petrol variants of the Kicks.

Nissan Kicks India – Exterior Design
Almost a year ago, Nissan showcased the Kicks concept. The production-spec model seen in the images here is nearly identical. The concept’s headlamps and tail lamps have given way to production spec units. It gets new alloys and some of the orange highlights around the bumper and grille area have been lost. Nissan’s now characteristic window line has been retained. And so has the dual tone paint scheme.

The small SUV space is getting more and more crowded with each passing month. Recent hits like the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Vitara Brezza seem to be encouraging more manufacturers to develop small SUVs. By the time Nissan Kicks India Launch takes place, Tata Nexon, Renault Kaptur, Tata Hexa, etc. will already be on sale in India.
