We had brought exclusive pictures and technical specifications of the Peugeot 508 sedan earlier during the first week of December and there we had stated that the car is expected to be showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo as well.
With least surprise, the company has officially confirmed that it will showcase the same at the upcoming Auto Expo. With the 508 the manufacturer will mark its first official presence in India. The 508 sedan will share the stage with two more products including a small car, either the older Peugeot 207 or the latest Peugeot 208. The other car is said to be an MPV which will most probably be the Peugeot 5008 or 3009.

508 will be not be launched immediately and will only come to the dealerships by late 2012 as the firm needs some time to establish itself by opening a network of dealerships. Also the new facility at Sanand is under development and will go operational by 2014. So till then the company will have to rely on the CBU route. Since the car will be imported as a CBU the cost is expected to fall between Rs. 18 to 23 Lakhs so as to make it eligible to compete with cars like Honda Accord, Nissan Teana, Toyota Camry, Volkswagen Passat etc.
