Datsun has managed to undercut the Kwid in terms of pricing by a margin of around 20-30 thousand. This means the Kwid and the Redi-GO are the cheapest offerings among the cars listed here. Maruti’s Wagon R is the most expensive followed by the Alto K10 and Datsun GO, which are evenly matched.

Renault Kwid vs Datsun Redi-GO vs Wagon R vs Alto K10 vs Datsun Go – Features Comparison

Being entry level hatchbacks, these cars aren’t very high on features. All of them get the basic stuff such as air conditioning, front power windows, audio system, etc. However, only the Wagon R gets dual front airbags, all four power windows, and ABS. The Kwid gets unique features such as MediaNAV touchscreen and a digital speedo. However, ABS is not available. The Datsun Redi-GO features an integrated audio unit and LED DRls. The Maruti Wagon R might be the most feature-rich, but it is also most expensive one here.

The Renault Kwid and the RediGO come with the smallest engine of the lot and is, quite obviously, the least powerful as well. However, as a result of the smaller capacity, both the Kwid and Redi-GO claim best in class fuel efficiency – 25.17 kpl. All cars come with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Maruti Alto K10 and the Wagon R get an optional 5-speed AMT, something even Renault is planning to introduce at a later stage. The Datsun Go gets the biggest engine here, but power output is at par with the Alto and Wagon R.

Renault Kwid vs Datsun Redi-GO vs Wagon R vs Alto K10 vs Datsun Go – Design Comparison

We usually refrain from giving an outright verdict on the looks of a vehicle because that is a matter of personal taste. Still, we think most will agree when we say that the Renault Kwid is easily one of the best-looking cars here. The crossover like appearance, resemblance to the Duster and Captur, all work together very well to give the Kwid a unique identity. The other head-turner here is the Redi-GO. Datsun’s designers did not deviate much from the concept that was showcased a few years back, which means the car gets a very modern exterior ensuring the design will age very well. The Maruti Alto K10 is a step down from the previous model in terms of design. However, it does look better than the Wagon R, whose tall stance and boxy shape isn’t to our liking. As far as the Datsun Go is concerned, while we like how it looks from rear angles, the front is a bit awkwardly designed and looks odd. The interiors of all four hatchbacks are equally matched in terms of design and quality. The Kwid’s interiors get a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen display.

Renault Kwid vs Datsun Redi-GO vs Wagon R vs Alto K10 vs Datsun Go – Verdict

With a really attractive price tag, a spacious cabin and a good ride and handling setup, the Kwid and Redi-GO, offer unbeatable value for money. True, they don’t get the most powerful engine of the lot, but they hold a definite advantage over the rest in terms of price and value for money. However, Renault and Datsun India do not have an answer to Maruti’s bulletproof after-sales network and brand image.

Design – Kwid’s crossover -like styling seems to have won Indian hearts. It will be interesting to see how the market reacts to the Redi-GO’s striking exterior.

Features – Entry-level hatchbacks aren’t really known for their features. The Maruti WagonR is ahead of the rest in this department.

Specifications – The 796 cc engine powering the Kwid and the Redi-GO is the smaller one here. The Datsun GO’s petrol is the biggest in terms of capacity. The Kwid and Redi-GO are among the most fuel-efficient cars on sale in India.

Price – Datsun Redi-GO becomes the cheapest car on sale among the ones mentioned here. Followed closely by the Kwid. Wagon R is the most expensive, but also the most feature rich offering.

  1. I think Kwid is a small car than others. As it offers 800 cc engine only. Also in length and width it is small car as compare to all other cars.So what is meaning to purchase car of 800 cc.Wagon r is now available in new modified version. If u see new wagon r it looks fresh and u can go blindly for Wagon r.And if u want change Datsun go is much better than all.But after sale about service network i don’t have any idea.Go is worth.I can give numbers as-1.Datsun Go 2.Wagon R 3.Alto 4.Kwid.
Decision is urs.Don’t waste ur money and time.

  2. the car is amazing and i dont know why they are saying the engine is not as good. if it isnt then how is the most fuel efficient car in the segment? it has arai mileage of 25.17 kmpl.

  3. I want to purchase a 4 wheller. Some one please suggest me which one the overall best within kwid, wagon r and datson go.

  4. I want to purchase a 4 wheller. Some one please suggest me which one the overall best within kwid, wagon r

  5. WagonR is good at 40-60km speed in highways. If you drive at 100kmph, is not safe for overall because it is egg shaped, easily tilt and got accident. Please dont go for Wagon R. Either alto or kwid is good for Indian roads.

  6. A GRAND SMALL CAR WHICH LOOKS BIG … PERFORMANCE WE HAVE TO WOIT , WONDER HOW THE CAN SERVICE THE CAR WITH ONLY ONE SERVICE STATION IN A CITY LIKE COCHIN.

  7. Bro I drive my wagonr at 3 digit speeds everyday. It handles well and has good brakes. Max speed I attained is 165kmph. Only change tyres of wagonr to 165 plus from stock 145 or 155

  8. I want to buy a hatchback around 4 lacs. confused after reading various reviews in several websites. pl suggest me a car which gives mileage, performance, value for money. i will drive around 100-200km per week only.

  9. Indians have rejected cars far superior to the Alto such as the Datsun Go , which was a category above in size and engine capacity. No sane person would have chosen an Alto over a Go. Hope this fate will not befall the brilliant and fun Kwid. It really is a rose among the thorns.Whatever mysterious quality people see in the ALTO or Eon, they look nasty, are cramped and ride much worse than the kwid and Go.

  10. Reddi go with I SAT Engine is good. .having highest millage compared to other vehicles. wait for redi go launch please.

  11. Kwid attainted speed of 150+ kmph..with great balanced because of well ground clearence .
K10 and Wagon R both r out of dated and so old fashion car..its time only for kwid. Its a best car in all department. So friends go with kwid only.

  12. Maruti Cars has old fashion look. Wagon R is not good in looking. No doubt features are important to consider but looking is also important and Maruti is not in the race of looking. One + point about maruti cars is that they can be repaired by most of the mechanics or garages. Maruti 800, Alto, Alto 800, K10 all have approx. same design. Wagon R has different look, but it looks like a match box. I think if you drive Wagon R at high speed and cross a truck, your car will become unbalance. Internal Space in 800, Alto 800, Alto and K10 is not too good so persons above 5.5 fts have lot’s of problems in setting in car and also driving. My height is around 6′ and driving Alto, K10, Alto 800 is very tedious job for me.
So select a car which have good look and also enough space inside to sit easily.
