Volkswagen India has jointed hands with Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh to promote the Think Blue initiative of Volkswagen India. The Think Blue initiative is about Bluemotion Technologies by Volkswagen which helps to make cars more eco-friendly by adopting technologies and engineering practices which makes cars more fuel efficient and reduce the tail pipe emissions which pollute the environment. Volkswagen India has officially announced the showcase of new model of its iconic car Volkswagen Beetle at the Auto Expo 2012. As per the official press release, there will be a showcasing of new model of VW Beetle of 21st Century, however, there is no official launch date announced for it as of now. Volkswagen sells Beetle in India and brings it via CBU which attracts heavy taxes and duties which makes it cost over Rs. 22 Lakhs in India. Volkswagen India has launched the much awaited and expected Volkswagen Passat 2011 new model in India today. The new Passat features the 2 Litre Diesel engine with BlueMotion Technology. The starting price of Volkswagen Passat 2011 is Rs. 20.18 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. The booking will start today and deliveries will begin in April 2011. The car comes in 5 colour options including White, Black, Pearl, Brown and Silver.
