Tata Nano Recalls All Tata Nano Cars (except 2012 Variant) For Starter Motor Replacement

Tata Motors has announced a preventive recall of all the Tata Nano cars sold in India till date except for the Tata Nano 2012 New Model launched just a few weeks ago. The starter motors of the earlier model has some problems which have been sorted out in the new model. As a preventive measure, Tata Motors has decided to recall all the cars sold so far and replace the self-starter motor which starts the engine in a Tata Nano car. A new starter motor which has been fitted in the new 2012 Model will be fitted in the recalled cars. This motor replacement is not a safety related problem, rather it is a electric component which may go faulty causing inconvenience. image – Tata Nano small car India This is a preventive recall and will cost Tata Motors a huge sum of Rs. 110 Crores to replace the component in all the Tata Nano cars. Toyota India Recalls Etios Sedan and Liva Hatchback Cars For Fuel Filler Hose Problems

Toyota India has officially recalled the Toyota Etios Sedan and Toyota Etios Liva hatchback in India which were produced before 8th October 2011. The reason for recall of Etios Sedan and Etios Liva hatchbacks is cases of potential aberration in the filler hose (from which diesel or petrol enters the fuel tank). These have been several cases reported to Toyota India after which it has decided to recall all the cars which can be potentially impacted by this defect and change the affected parts free of cost. Toyota India has put up an official announcement on its official website regarding the same. image – Toyota Etios Sedan and Liva Hatchback Toyota is calling it a Special Service Campaign to avoid any problems to the customers in future. Honda India Recalls First Batch Of Honda CBR250R For Faulty Parts

Honda CBR250R is one of the sportiest affordable bikes in India in the 250 CC Segment which both looks good and performs good at a price which would be considered as affordable for its segment. Launched In India in early 2011, the Honda CBR initial batch is being recalled and inspected for quality related issues. As per a report by one of our fellow Automobile blogs, Honda is calling the owners of the first batch of bikes and asking them to bring their bikes for check up at the official dealerships. Toyota Recalls Over Half A Million Cars Worldwide To Fix Potential Steering Problem

Car Recall is one big ghost for any auto manufacturer, it not only costs time and money to recall and fix cars for manufacturing defects, it also hurts the brand image and customer loyalty for the manufacturer. Toyota which is known for its high quality products, have faced a lot of issues in past few years because of such defects which have made it to recall its cars to avoid any mishaps on the road. Honda City 2005 to 2007 Year Models Recalled For Faulty Power Window Switches

Honda City has been the customers’ choice ever since it entered the mid-size sedan segment and is still close to the zenith in its category but since it is a machine problems are ought to come. Honda is recalling 72,115 Honda city Sedans manufactured during the between the year 2005 and 2007 for replacement of power window switches. The Indian recall is a small part of the global recall recently made which covers over 9,00,000 vehicles. Adding the Honda Jazz/ Honda Fit hatchback numbers, which account for a majority of the the total number of recalled units, it reaches 962,000 mark. The Citys are a small portion of the global recall of which over 72,000 come from India. 13157 Maruti Diesel Cars – Swift, Swift Dzire and Ritz Diesel Recalled For Engine Fault

Maruti Suzuki has recalled 13157 diesel engine cars for a defective bolt in the connecting rod of the diesel engines for the engines manufactured between Nov 13, 2010 to Dec 4, 2010. The cars which are suspected to have these faults include 4505 Maruti Swift Dzire Diesel, 6841 Maruti Swift and 1811 Maruti Ritz Diesel. You don’t need to panic if you own one of them, Maruti has setup an online page where you can check whether your car is impacted by this fault or not. You can simply enter your car’s engine number and check whether you need to take it to Maruti Service center for free replacement of the connecting rod bolts. Here is the Maruti Official Page for checking if you car has faulty engine or not. Maruti will proactively contact the customers having faulty cars and will repair such engines free of cost. Over 57,000 Honda City Cars Recalled In India To Replace Faulty Valve Springs In Car’s Engine

Honda SIEL India Ltd. has recalled 57,853 Honda City Cars in India because of a fault in the lost motions springs in the valvetrains of the i-VTEC engine of Honda City cars sold between November 2008 and December 2009. These faulty springs have a tendency to bend over or even break sometimes. The failure of the spring results in high engine noise, engine stalling and starting problem. This can be a serious problems, but Honda in its goodwill has taken a proactive action to recall these cars and replace the faulty part so that its customers don’t face this problem. Tata Nano has been the ultimate choice for all middle class buyers in India but unfortunately has also brought an element of fear to their minds with a couple of fire accidents which took place a while back. Suzuki Motor Corporation sells its car Alto in Europe. The European Alto is equivalent of the Indian Maruti Suzuki A-Star which is manufactured in India and exported world over. Few months back there was a recall of Maruti A-Star by Maruti and Nissan which sells the same car as Nissan Pixo. Suzuki has recalled 10 thousand Alto (Indian Maruti A-Star) in Europe because of problem which causes the tail lamps to become un-functional. Maruti has exported over 1 lakh A-Star cars in last financial year. Few months back another problem was reported with some of the A-star cars related to the Fuel Leakage for which about 1 Lakh cars were recalled. It is comparatively safe for car companies to recall and fix the problems before these problems cause a threat to the safety of the passengers.
