Bajaj has sold over 5000 units in Indonesia and will fix the problem for the bikes which are facing such problem free of cost. All the repairs and replacements of parts will be covered by Bajaj.

The same problem may or may not arise in Indian counterparts of Bajaj Pulsar depending on whether these two bikes share the electrical systems which are from same supplier or not.

Suzuki has recalled 10 thousand Alto (Indian Maruti A-Star) in Europe because of problem which causes the tail lamps to become un-functional. Maruti has exported over 1 lakh A-Star cars in last financial year. Few months back another problem was reported with some of the A-star cars related to the Fuel Leakage for which about 1 Lakh cars were recalled.

It is comparatively safe for car companies to recall and fix the problems before these problems cause a threat to the safety of the passengers.

The problem suspected with some of these cars is related to brake pedal pins and fuel-gauge components. Nissan will inspect and replace any faulty parts. This is another major recall by a reputed automobile manufacturer. Most of these vehicles are in USA.

Although no complaints have been reported yet according to the officials from the company presently controlled by Fiat S.p.A, the problem was figured out when the company found that one of the airbag crash sensors could crack under some environmental conditions, allowing water to get inside it, eventually causing malfunction of the sensor.

Chrysler claims the campaign to be totally different from a recall since no accidents have come up due to airbag crash sensor problem as well as the vehicles still meet the crash standards set by the U.S. safety regulators.

Chrysler notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration about the decision in a document sent last week "If the front crash sensors become inoperative, the driver is immediately alerted by illumination of the airbag warning light,". In addition to this Chrysler also said that "Until the vehicle is repaired, the airbags may not provide the enhanced protection in the event of a crash,"

The recall will include the 2005 to 2010 model year Chevrolet Cobalt, and 2007 to 2010 Pontiac G5 sold in the USA .

It also includes the 2005 to 2006 Pontiac Pursuit sold in Canada, and the 2005 to 2006 Pontiac G4 sold in Mexico.

In a fresh news, Hyundai will recalled about 47300 Hyundai Sonata cars which in USA and South Korea because of door lock problem. The recall includes the YF Sonatas produced in Korea until December 6, about 46,000 cars and those produced at Alabama and sold to customers till February 16, about 1300 cars.

Hyundai will recall cars from March 2010 due to complaints of faulty front-door locks on some of these cars. USA dealers have been instructed to stop selling these cars until the problem is fixed.

The problem is that the front doors of some of the Sonatas cannot be closed properly if a person simultaneously pulls the door latch and holds down the lock from inside.

This problem can be dangerous if the door is not properly closed and the driver is driving at a high speed. To avoid any mishaps, Hyundai will recall and fix the problem with all such models.

All The Car Recalls Of 2010

The reason for this recall is the potentially rear brake disc defect which in an emergency situation might reduce the performance of the brakes and could even break the disc in extreme conditions resulting in a crash as the stopping distance will increase eventually.

No information has been disclosed by BMW as how the company would deal with such a problem and the solution or when the customers are expected to receive a recall notice, but we expect that the problem fades away soon.

The recall is being conducted proactively by Maruti Suzuki and they are contacting all the customers with potentially problematic cars and replacing the gaskets and o-rings as preventive measure. Most of the customers have not faced this problem as yet as only a few cases have been reported starting November 2009. This problem had been reveled during a quality inspection by Maruti.

This step to recall the cars and replace the parts before it becomes a large problem is  a very essential step for reputed brands like Maruti to save its goodwill and trust which people have towards this brand. Maruti is calling its customers and repairing the problem. The cost of the repair is being borne partly by Maruti and Partly by the fuel pump supplier.

Although the Toyota India has assured that the car sold India has a different supplier of Power steering than the one for the USA version of Toyota corolla, so the cars running in India need not be recalled.

This time the problem rose from the airbag deflator which could probably break and send broken pieces towards the passengers in an accident proving the accident to be more fatal. This is not the first time when Honda has recalled cars with airbag problems. In November 2008 and June 2009 several complaints against the airbag problem were filed leaving the company with no choice but to recall 510000 cars. This year the recalled cars don’t include the ones sold in Europe, as this part of the world doesn’t have such airbags.

The root cause for the airbag problem was believed to be excessive intake of moisture by the propellant which was later ruled out after figuring out the defect with the insufficient pressure of stamping during the production of inflator propellant.

A spokesperson from Honda said that the airbags were manufactured Takata Corporation’s USA unit while Takata Corporation’s spokesperson said that no airbag complaint have been reported from any of the customer car makers. This recall has greatly affected the USA market only with a  recall of over 379000 cars and all the cars being recalled will be sent to Honda’s USA and Canadian Plants.

The Included cars in the recall are as follows: 2001 and 2002 model-year, Honda Accord, Honda Civic, Honda Odyssey,Honda CR-V, Pilot and 2002 Acura TL and CL vehicles in the US and according to Honda all these replacements would cost them nearly 24 million yen ($267,000) in Japan, or about $67 a car.
