This offer will cover all the Periodic Maintenance Services and Running Repairs. In tandem with the “Chevrolet Promise”, in case the cost exceeds the maximum maintenance expense for 3 years outlined for each model, Chevrolet promises a full refund of the differential. The Cashless ownership offer will be applicable to the  newly launched and much sought after Chevrolet Beat as well at a mere cost of Rs 13499/-  covering all  services and maintenance for a period of 3 years/45000 kms whichever is earlier.

This offer will be at different prices for different models of Chevrolet Cars.

Chevrolet India Vice-President (Sales, Marketing & Services) Ankush Arora has quoted

The one-litre diesel engine will be rolled-out from Talegaon early next year for our small car, Beat

This is a good move by Chevrolet / General Motors India which will help them capture some of the slice of Small Diesel cars from Ford Figo Diesel, Maruti Ritz Diesel, Volkswagen Polo Diesel etc.

The Diesel Engine of the Chevrolet beat will be a 1 Litre CRDI Diesel Engine. It will produce a Max Power of about 60 BHP and Max Torque of about 100 Nm. The engines will be manufactured at the Talegaon Plant of Chevrolet India. There are also talks of Chevrolet Beat LPG launch about the same time as the Chevrolet Beat Diesel.

Launch & Price Of Chevrolet Beat Diesel

There is no official Information about the price or launch date of Chevrolet Beat Diesel. The launch is expected around January 2011. The price of the Chevrolet Beat is expected to between Rs. 4.2 Lakhs and Rs. 5.5 Lakhs to compete with the same segment of cars. This is an approximate assumption and not the official price. We will update this section as soon as there is some official announcement of the same.

Nissan Micra Vs Chevrolet Beat Exteriors

Exterior styling of both Nissan Micra and Chevrolet Beat is beautiful and pleasing to eyes. While Nissan Micra is slightly more on the rounded curves and pleasing looks, the Chevrolet beat is more sharp and straight lined youthful styling. Both have a different visual appeal from each other. For a youngster, Chevrolet Beat may be more appealing whereas to a mature person, the elegance of Nissan Micra may appeal more than the Chevy Beat.

I personally like both of them alike and won’t be able to choose just on the basis of the looks. Lets compare further to make an opinion.

Length = 3595mm; Width = 1595mm; Height = 1520;

Comparing the dimensions, its evident that Chevrolet Beat is more in length as well as height compared to Micra but lesser in Width. This gives more of a tall boy look to the Beat and a wide and comfy look to the Micra. For a taller person, Beat may appeal more, I personally prefer more width because of the interior comfort inside a wide car.

Comparing the engine specifications, the Beat takes the lead because of higher power output compared to Nissan Micra. Although the 3 Cylinder Engine helps keep the weight lower compared to 4 Cylinder engine,which may compensate for the comparatively lower power of Micra.

Nissan Micra Vs Chevrolet Beat Interiors

Interiors of both the cars are appealing and contain nice gadgetry. I personally find the Interiors of the Micra to be more elegant and classy compared with the Chevrolet beat. The Beat has been designed really nice from inside, but again, its looks more youthful and vibrant and less elegant.

In terms of width, Nissan Micra gives more elbow room whereas the Chevrolet Beat Gives more Head Room for taller passengers and drivers.

When comparing price, the Nissan Micra seems very pricey compared to the Chevrolet Beat. In this respect, I would like to say Chevrolet Beat is a better value for money. But if you compare the features of the top variants of both the cars, the Micra seems to provide some really nice features, but despite that, the Micra seems pricey.

Chevrolet Beat – Specifications, Price, Looks And Features

Recently Chevrolet has launched its sedan Chevrolet AVEO CNG in India. The choice of operating a car on cheaper and cleaner fuels like CNG and LPG works really well for car buyers who are concerned about the high running costs of the petrol cars.

The very obvious benefits of a factory fitted LPG / CNG kit is that the kit is more reliable, tested for quality and safety standards and does not void the warranty of the engine unlike after-market LPG / CNG kits. Also the engine may be adversely affected with an after-market kit as the engine might not have been designed keeping the LPG / CNG fuel in mind.

The factory fitted kits are safety tested and the suspension of the cars are also modified accordingly to bear the extra weight at the rear which is added because of heavy LPG / CNG Cylinder. This suspension modifications greatly improves the handling of the car. We hope the Chevrolet Beat LPG variant will help the Beat sales to rise even more.

The pricing of both the cars is nearby and they both fall in same bracket but the styling differs drastically. In this post I will compare Engine, Design, Exteriors, Interiors of both the cars so that you can better decide between the two cars. I have also recently compared Maruti Wagon R Vs Ford Figo Petrol.

New Wagon R Vs Chevrolet Beat Exterior Styling

The styling of both cars is appealing and modern, but I find beat more attractive from exteriors with its beautiful curves and sharp eye like headlamps and distinctive rear with rear-lamp styling. New Wagon R is much better compared to the previous Wagon R, but it lags behind the beat in terms of Styling. For Styling, my vote goes to Chevrolet Beat.

Chevrolet Beat Dimension :

Length = 3595mm; Width = 1595mm; Height = 1520;

New Wagon R Dimensions :

Length = 3595mm ; Width = 1495mm; Height = 1700mm;

Considering the dimensions of these cars, I find that Wagon R is about 100 mm less wide and 180mm taller. This means that elbow room for passengers is congested in Wagon R, especially if 3 passengers sit in rear seat when comparing to the Chevrolet Beat. Considering the height, Wagon R has more head space for tall passenger, but consider the fact that this height contains roof-rail height in it.

Chevrolet beat is no doubt more powerful and punchy with about 20 % more torque and 20% more power compared to New Wagon R, but it is also approx 20% more in terms of displacement with a 1.2 L engine compared to 1 L engine of Wagon R, but the max torque delivery of Wagon R is at a lower RPM which is an advantage in congested driving situations.

So in this case, my opinion is neutral towards both these cars. If I have to make a choice, I would go for a more powerful engine because I do not drive too much and I don’t mind if the fuel mileage of my car is slightly lower. But a person who drives a lot and has fuel mileage as primary concern, smaller engine makes better sense as it will deliver comparatively more mileage.

New Wagon R Interiors Vs Chevrolet Beat Interiors

Interiors of New Wagon R are pleasant, elegant and good quality. Dual tone interiors and cup holder, under-seat storage, rear split seat etc make the interiors really useful and comfortable. Also the rear seats have been drifted backwards to make more legroom, so its more spacious and comfortable for rear passengers.

Interiors of Chevrolet beat are more sport, fun and futuristic compared to the Wagon R. The interior styling has been done keeping the youthful look in mind, so it gives a pleasant and energetic feeling. The instrument cluster is like none other and spooked wheels and round gear knobs make it a really attractive car when compared with Wagon R.

The selecting between two depends on what you are looking for. If you want a simple elegant design inside, Wagon R is your pick, and if you are looking for stylish and youthful experience, Chevrolet beat will be your pick. I will choose Chevrolet beat.

In this article I am going to compare Ford Figo Petrol with yet another beautiful and small hatchback by Chevrolet the Chevrolet Beat. Both these cars are new in Indian markets and are priced similar and are small hatchback cars. I will compare the two in this article. I am going to compare only petrol variants as the Beat does not come with a Diesel engine as yet.

The cars are priced between Rs. 3.4 Lakh and Rs. 4.4 Lakh Ex-showroom approx.

Ford Figo Vs Chevrolet Beat Exterior Styling

Honestly speaking, I feel that looks of Chevrolet beat are much more appealing and modern compared to the Ford Figo. The front of both cars are equally impressive, but the side looks of Beat is a lot more modern and smooth. The door handles design makes it look almost like a 2 door and the curves are really well done. To on exteriors, I personally like Chevrolet Beat better than Ford Figo.

Length = 3595mm; Width = 1595mm; Height = 1520;

Ford Figo Dimensions :

Length = 3795mm; Width = 1680mm;  Height = 1453mm;

Considering the dimensions of the two cars, its evident that Figo is longer and wider compared to Beat, whereas Beat is slightly taller and compact. So this is very subjective to the individual choice whether a person likes wider car or a compact one. For a city driving, compact is better and for countryside and sub-urban, wide is better.

Considering the engine capacity is same, the Chevrolet Engine seems more impressive with 80.5 BHP power and 108 Nm torque compared to 71 BHP power and 102Nm torque of Ford Figo. So in this sense, my vote for Engine goes to Chevrolet Beat.

Ford Figo Interiors Vs Chevrolet Beat Interiors

First thing that you will notice about Ford Figo is that its more spacious compared to Chevrolet Beat from the Inside.The reason being more width. This makes the rear passenger comfort better, especially if you want to seat 3 passengers in the rear seat.

The looks of Ford Figo Interiors are nice enough and have a dual tone touch in fabric and dashboard. The quality of the plastic is not very high, its somewhat average. One thing you will miss is the rear power windows, which are missing even from the top end model. So the interiors are good and spacious, but not very impressive when it comes to looks, luxury and quality.

The Chevrolet beat looks much better from inside, although its bit congested for 5 passengers and the space inside is less in width,but the quality of material and the interior looks are  much more impressive compared to the Ford Figo. It also comes with all powered windows in its top end model.

So on interiors, my vote goes to Chevrolet Beat, but if you have a family of 5 people, I think you better go with Figo when it comes to interior space.

The price difference between Ford Figo and Chevrolet Beat is not much, but considering the interior quality, my vote again goes to the Beat.

Timothy E Lee, President, International operations of General Motors has stated “Popular cars like the Chevrolet Corvette and Camaro will be brought to India and sold in select boutique showrooms in small numbers, as these cars will be imported as Complete Built Units (CBU) and the import duties will be high,” Lee in addition to this also said “The import duty required to sell the other kinds of Chevy vehicles like Corvette or Camaro is quite extensive to do it for the buying public. We will have a boutique offering for those kinds of brands but those will never be the volume products for India. Every one of those products will create its own space in India, but it will be very small in numbers”.

Earlier at the Auto Expo 2010 while presenting the Camaro, GM refused of any plans of bringing Camaro to India but now the cars are bound to enter the Indian Market.

Reluctance can still be seen as company officials have not revealed any details of the official launch dates and all we wish is to see these globally acclaimed cars running on the Indian turf soon.

The Talegaon plant is held with the responsibility of producing Chevrolet Beat and Chevrolet Spark while the Halol plant is busy producing Chevrolet Tavera, Chevrolet Optra and Chevrolet Aveo. The Halol plant is currently working in two shifts producing 250 units a day and is also being planned for a third shift. The reason for such a step is certainly the record number of  sales that the company made in January 2010 with 9421 units, the highest ever in Indian Market.

The company has  a tie-up with Chinese Shanghai Automotive Industry which delivers LCV and passenger cars and out of which the LCV will be deferred from GM’s banner while all other will bear the banner of Chevrolet.

The most important goal for every company is supposed to be Increase in and for this year GM plans to sell 1.2 lakh units than the 70,000 units in 2009 with an increase of 70 percent and the Joint Venture is expected to bring a boost to the existing sales with 3.0 lakh units while 20% of the net sales will constitute the exports made to other parts of the world including Asia-Pacific region. Which car should I buy ? Maruti Wagon R Or Chevrolet Beat ?

One of my relatives asked me to suggest him a choice between Maruti Wagon R and Chevrolet Beat. Since the price of the two cars is pretty close, I did a price and feature comparison below to compare Maruti Wagon R and Chevrolet Beat.

In the below Table, I will compare important Specification,  features and price of Maruti Wagon R and Chevrolet Beat. I will be comparing the Chevrolet Beat  PS and LS variant  Vs Maruti Wagon R – Lxi and Vxi variants. I am considering all three with metallic paint. I will highlight the box text with green color for which the I find the attribute as best among all these cars.

In the above comparison its very clear that Chevrolet is a clear winner in terms of features, specifications and Price. The major difference is in the power and torque of the car which really is significantly better in case of Chevrolet beat compared to Maruti Wagon R.
