Hyundai India Sales Grew 15% In January 2012– Small Cars Lead The Chart

Hyundai India sales chart continues to be positive and going strong both in Indian domestic sales as well as the exports from India. In the month of January 2012, Hyundai India sold a total of 49901 car units including 33900 car sales in India and 16001 units in export markets. The sales grew 11.85% in domestic markets and 22.9 percent in exports averaging out to a total growth of 15.20% overall compared to the total sales of 43316 units in the same month in 2011. Hyundai Opening Technical Training Centers In Africa and Asia

Hyundai Motor Company, in collaboration with KOICA and PLAN Korea, will launch a project to help youth in under-developed areas support themselves by setting up technical training center for automobile repair in several African nations. Starting with Ghana, Hyundai will build automobile repair training schools in Africa and Asia in a continuous cycle of construction. The repair training school in Koforidua, Ghana, called Hyundai-KOICA Dream Centre, will open in September 2012 with a three-year program, admitting about 300 students. Hyundai will support the establishment of the school, from paying teachers to developing curriculum. Graduates with good school records will be offered jobs at Hyundai Service Centers. Statistics available from the Ghana Statistics Service 2006 Report indicate that about 250,000 young people enter the labor market annually; they range from university graduates to junior high dropouts. Only 2 percent, or fewer than 5,000 Ghanaian youth, secure traditional employment. The rest are left to unemployment or unstable employment.The cause of high unemployment among youth is the lack of employable skills needed by the job market. Hyundai Motors India Limited has gauged that they need to provide something more in the Hyundai Eon to make it compete better with the king of small car segment, the Maruti Alto. To make the offering more lucrative and attract more buyers from Alto, Hyundai has added new more value-for-money variants with better feature combinations and option of LPG for the new variants. Hyundai Eon Petrol-LPG Dual Fuel Car Production Started

Hyundai Motors India Limited has already started the production of Hyundai Eon small car in Petrol-LPG Dual Fuel variant. The dual fuel variant comes with a standard 32 Litre petrol tank and an LPG container which is of the shape of the car’s wheel and fits inside the space of the spare wheel in the boot compartment of the car. The addition of LPG makes the EON more economical and less polluting to run. Specially in India, where the petrol prices are quite high, any alternative cheaper fuel is always welcome. Hyundai India has started the export of Eon LPG and the Indian launch is expected to take place in a few weeks. The starting price of Hyundai Eon Petrol is about Rs. 2.69 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. The Hyundai Eon Petrol LPG variants are expected to be priced about Rs. 30,000 higher than the Petrol only variants which means an approximate starting price of Rs. 3 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. Hyundai India Domestic Sales Grew 12.8% In December 2011

Hyundai has manages to keep the sales charts upwards for the month of December 2011 when compared to the sales data of December 2010. In December 2011, Hyundai India sold 29,516 units against 26,168 units in the corresponding month last year in Indian domestic market which is a growth of 12.8%. However, besides the increase in domestic sales, there has been a drop in exports by 7.7% which brought the cumulative sales growth for December 2011 to 3.6%. Hyundai Eon has played a good role in expanding Hyundai India’s portfolio in India and the new Hyundai Verna Fluidic has also been well received by India car buyers. image- Hyundai Eon Small Car India The segment-wise cumulative sales for December 2011 are: A2 segment 42,624units (Eon, Santro, i10, i20); A3 Segment 6,247 units (Accent and Verna); A5 segment 11 units (Sonata Transform); Santa Fe (SUV) 67 units. For the full calendar year 2010 HMIL recorded domestic sales of 373,709 units, an increase of 4.8% over 356,717 units last year.
