Renault India Brings New Duster Compact SUV To Auto Expo 2012

Its raining compact SUVs at the Auto expo 2012 and Renault Duster is one of the most awaited products of this series. Recently Ford India Unveiled Ford EcoSport compact SUV at the Auto Expo 2012 and Maruti Suzuki showcased compact SUV concept XA-Alpha at the Expo. Renault India has launched its small car Renault Pulse Diesel in two variants starting at a price tag of Rs. 5.77 Lakhs for the Pulse RxL lower variant and at Rs. 6.25 Lakhs for the Pulse Rxz ex-showroom price Delhi. The Pulse is a re-design of Nissan Micra and look much more sport and aggressive than the Micra. Renault India is going to officially launch its small car Renault Pulse hatchback In India on 6th of January 2012 ay the Auto Expo 2012. The Renault Pulse is a hatch based on Nissan Micra which is already available in India with both petrol and diesel engine variants. However, the Pulse will be launched exclusively with the K9K Diesel engine of Nissan. Renault India has launched the top end Diesel variant of Renault Fluence D Segment sedan in India. During the official launch of Renault Fluence in May 2011, Renault launched Diesel variant with E2 Trim and Petrol variant with E4 trim. The E2 Diesel had lower feature sets and only manual transmission option in India while the petrol E4 came with fully loaded features and automatic transmission. Renault has joined hands with Bajaj Auto limited few years back for the joint development of the ULC or the Ultra Low Cost car which was to compete with Tata Nano in India. Recently we had informed you about Renault Duster LPG variant launched in Europe which interested us a lot since the car is going to be on the affordable side and a company fitted LPG or CNG kit along with it might attract enough buyers in India. But that is a plan to be implemented once the Renault Duster establishes itself here through its petrol and diesel siblings. Renault has already announced that it will launch the Duster by mid-2012 and the latest news says that Duster will be launched in 5 different variants. The car will be offered with two engines options, a 1.6 liter MPFI petrol and a 1.5 CRDi diesel. The diesel one currently powers the Renault Fluence and used to power Mahindra Logan, before Mahindra & Mahindra and Renault parted ways. Renault Duster, one of the most awaited SUV car after the recent Mahindra XUV500, is going to be launched in 2012. The reason for the level of attention it is drawing is the expected low cost of the car and Renault is quite confident it will do well in our market. The Duster, also known as Dacia Duster in the European market, is a popular car there. The latest news regarding Duster is that the company has launched the LPG variant of the same in Europe. The LPG variant is available at an extra cost of € 800 which roughly costs around Rs. 50,000 in Indian rupees. The deal seems to be quite reasonable as once your LPG Duster completes 20,000 miles, the additional LPG kit cost will be recovered. The kit is coupled to 1.6 liter gasoline engine that produces 105 BHP of max power on gasoline mode and 102 BHP on LPG mode.
