TVS Develops New Automatic Transmission With Better Fuel Economy For Bikes And Scooters

TVS, the popular TVS Scooty manufacturer, has come up with something very interesting recently in Chennai. The company has announced that in 2013 a new species of gearless scooters and motorcycles equipping a newly developed engine will be launched. The new engine features a number of innovations that are still pending for acquiring patents, and are meant for delivering 20 percent more fuel economy to gearless scooter owners and an easy riding experience, like that of a scooter, for motorcycle owners. This new engine features an automatic transmission technology that will give more mileage to scooter owners while at the same time motorcycles fitted with this technology will not have clutch lever and gear and instead will use a button to change the gear. Dena Bank signed an MOU with TVS Motor Company Ltd. on 1st December, 2011 for financing Three Wheelers manufactured by TVS in India. The MOU was signed in the presence of Shri A.K. Dutt, Executive Director, Dena Bank at a function held in Mumbai. The MOU was signed by Shri M. K. Sharma, General Manager, Dena Bank and Shri K. Srinivasan, Vice President, TVS Motor Company Ltd. in the presence of Mr. Ashok Dutt Executive Director, Dena Bank Shri A.K. Dutt said MOU will help the Bank to increase their finance to Priority sector advances besides achieving the social objective of the Bank to provide collateral free loan to Micro and Small Enterprises throughout the country. Dena Bank will provide loan upto 90% of the cost of vehicle (on road) to eligible borrowers on merits for purchase of TVS 3 wheeler passenger auto rickshaws at a very attractive rate of interest. TVS motors India is working on an electric scooter for India. TVS had already introduced an electric two wheeler called the Scooty Teenz which did not do well in India and was eventually phased out. TVS Motors India has launched the much awaited TVS Apache RTR 180 with ABS or Anti-Lock Braking System. The TVS Apache RTR with ABS is the first Indian bike with ABS for a price tag of less than Rs. 1 Lakh. The electronically controlled braking system ensured that the wheels don’t lock while panic or hard braking on wet or rough surfaces. It bring the bike to a complete stop safely when brakes are applied. The braking system controls the brake force using a software controlled mechanism which uses the inputs from the toothed wheel sensors mounted on the brake disks.
