Toyota is working on the launch of its successful sedan Toyota Corolla Altis with a CRDI Diesel Engine for Indian market. Rumors are that the launch can be anytime soon, it was planned originally for about mid 2010, but it may be announced as soon as March end of early April 2010.
Toyota Corolla Altis Diesel is being tested on Indian roads and is expected to go for production by end of March 2010. There is no official release about these dates. The car is expected to have a CRDI engine with a power output in range of 100 BHP to 120 BHP.
Toyota is already selling its 1.4 Litre Diesel engine Corolla in the south east Asian countries. The same engine maybe fitted in the Indian version also.
