One word: Graphics.
You pay Rs. 1,500 for the black and white paint job (Yamaha calls it ‘Black n Beauty’) and stylised decals (with a lot of pink elements.). There is a ‘Precious Edition’ sticker above the headlamp cluster and ‘Ray Cygnus’ badging on the rear panel.
Well, the Ray is a smart looking scooter, with the large headlamp cluster on the front apron, dual tone body panels all around, stylosh tail-lamp unit and a nicely designed seat ending in a practical hip-support-cum-grab-rail. The Precious Edition retains all of that.
Other feature include:
- Telescopic front forks
- Curved front panel which protects the riders legs from dirt
- Storage compartments at the front
- 15.5-litre under-seat storage space
- Movable rear fender
The Yamaha Ray Precious Edition is powered by a 113cc, single cylinder engine which has a power output of 7 BHP @ 7500 rpm and a torque output of 8.1 Nm @5000 rpm. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox. With an average mileage of 50 KMPL and a fuel tank capacity of 5-litres, the Ray has a range of 250 Kms.
