CFMoto – a Chinese two wheeler manufacturer – has just entered the Indian market today with four new bikes. They have partnered with Bangalore-based AMW motorcycles and the bikes would enter the country through the CKD route to be assembled at AMW’s Hyderabad plant. Namely, the bikes are – 300NK, 650NK, 650GT and 650MT – where NK are the naked street bikes, the GT being the Sports Tourer and the MT being the Adventure Tourer. Here we are going to take a detailed look at the 650GT. So here’s 5 things you need to know about the CFMoto 650GT:
It’s a Sports Tourer
If you have been wondering why CFMoto is selling two fared motorcycles of the same capacity, you have been wondering about the right things. The 650GT is sports tourer with relaxed ergonomics for great long-distance comfort, tall windscreen and even luggage mounting points. Its a sportsbike for long distance touring. The 650MT on the other hand is the proper adventure tourer upright ergonomics and windscreen and long travel suspension.
The CFMoto 650GT uses a 649.3cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that churns out about 60 bhp of power and 58.3 Nm of torque. In fact, its the same engine that is also offered on the other 650cc bikes – the 650NK and the 650MT – but all engines have their individual tuning to suit their specific needs.
All three 650cc bikes – the 650NK, 650GT and the 650MT – share the same chassis and underpinnings but with slightly different setups. The 650GT gets telescopic forks along with the 650Nk but the 650MT gets long travel upside down forks. The off-set rear monoshock also remains the same for all three bikes. The 650GT gets split seats, 17-inch alloy wheels, with braking duties taken care by twin discs with axially mounted calipers and a single rear disc brake.
Features and Equipment
Among the 5 things to know about the CFMoto 650GT would definitely be its features. It comes pretty well equipped when compared to its rivals, particularly the Kawasaki Ninja 650. The 650GT gets LED headlamps, LED turn indicators and LED tail lamp. It also gets a large digital screen and also comes with dual-channel ABS as standard fitment.
CFMoto has announced that the bikes would be priced between Rs. 2.29 lakhs to Rs. 5.49 lakhs, ex-showroom. We are expecting that the 650GT would be in between the 650NK and the 650MT, by which it could be priced around Rs. 5 lakhs. If so, it undercuts the price of it rival – the Kawasaki Ninja 650 (Rs 5.89 lakh, ex-showroom) – by quite a margin. The 650GT is expected to be launched around Diwali after all the other bikes have been launched.
