Hyundai’s answer to the country’s largest selling subcompact SUV Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is going to make its world premiere on the 17th of April this year. Called as the Venue, this SUV is expected to launch in India sometime during the month of May.
Ahead of its official unveiling later this month, the Hyundai Venue has been completely revealed inside-out through a series of leaked images. These images leave little to the imagination as far as the design of the vehicle is concerned.
Up-front, the Venue comes with Hyundai Kona like fascia. It gets split headlamps. The main headlamp unit sits inside the LED daytime running lamp’s ring. In-between its is Hyundai’s large cascading grill which gets an extensive chrome treatment. Below this is the dual-tone front bumper that comes with faux-skid plates.
The side profile of the Venue feature 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. The back fascia of this SUV bears rather simple aesthetics in comparison to the front. It gets squarish taillamps with interesting detailing. The rear bumper is going to feature a faux-skid plate, just the like front.
The leaked images of the Hyundai Venue also give us a glimpse of the interiors of this vehicle. The design of the dashboard feels premium and modern. The steering wheel inside the Venue seems to take direct inspiration from the Kona SUV. The centre console gets a floating touchscreen system with air-vents on either side. The controls for the air-con look very smart and premium as well.
The vehicle seen in the images bears a “Turbo” badge at the back. This confirms that speculations that Hyundai is indeed going to launch a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine with a DCT unit. Other powertrain options will include 1.4-litre petrol and a 1.4-litre diesel unit. These will be paired as standard with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Hyundai Venue is going to get several safety features as standard. These will include dual-airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts along with rear parkign sensors and driver and passenger seat belt warnings. Prices for this SUV are expected to fall in-between the range of INR 7.5 lakh to INR 11 lakh. Other than the Maruti Vitara Brezza, this SUV is going to compete against the likes of Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and the Tata Nexon.
