Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has officially commenced the production of its Luxury Saloon Jaguar XF in its facility in Pune.  Not only this the locally built Jaguar XF models will also be powered with Jaguar’s globally acclaimed 2.2-Litre diesel engine which will be its maiden innings in Indian market. The Jaguar XF will be manufactured along with Land Rover’s Freelander 2 which is being manufactured at Pune facility of Tata owned British marquee Jaguar Land Rover since 2011. With the localization of the assembling, the Jaguar XF now start at a price of Rs. 44.5 Lakhs ex-showroom India.

Jaguar XF comes in 3 different engine options including two diesel and one petrol. The petrol model uses a 5 litre V8 engine with 510 BHP of power and 625 Nm of torque. All these three variants come with an ZF 8 speed automatic transmission gearbox. These three variants have a top speed of 250 KMPH, 225 KMPH and 250 KMPH respectively.

JLR has performed quite well last year witnessing a growth of 32 % in 2012, owing to the increased purchase power of emerging corporate India. JLR has launched the new Range Rover in November 2012 in Indian market just after 2 months of its introduction in the global market, which is a good sign for Indian consumers as JLR is now seriously concentrating to penetrate its reach in Indian market. It is anticipated that JLR might debut its “F-Type” in coming month, which is much hyped for its design and performance.

Commenting on the same Mr. Rohit Suri, Vice President, Jaguar Land Rover India said: “Our best-selling models in India are the Land Rover Freelander 2 and the Jaguar XF and this has driven the move to build these products locally.
