KTM has been delaying the launch of 390 Adventure for a long time, even after it has been spied many times in India. This ADV is much anticipated in India, but KTM is surprising us with another adventure motorcycle, for a decent budget.
Autocar reports that KTM is working on the 250 Adventure for India, which will look similar to the 390 Adventure. Of course, the 250cc ADV will be much cheaper than the 390cc model. Yayyy!
KTM 250 Adventure will be amongst one of the most affordable entry-level adventure motorcycles in India, priced cheaper than the BMW G 310 GS, but a little more expensive than the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
The 250 Adventure will use the same engine of the Duke 250, but with slightly revised gear ratios and ECU mapping. The power figures are likely to remain the same, producing 30 BHP and 24 Nm of peak torque, with a 6-speed gearbox helping the engine.
Differences between the 250cc and the 390cc model will be of certain cut-downs like the former will use halogen headlamps instead of LED units, use lower-spec tires instead of Continental tires on the 390.
Further, we could see the fully digital instrument cluster from the Duke 200 and 125 on the 250 Adventure. The bigger 390 Adventure will get the TFT colour screen, which also comes on the Duke 390. However, the alloy wheels sizes will be the same as 390 Adventure.
For suspension, it will use the inverted forks at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the back. Front and rear disc brakes with switchable dual-channel ABS is likely to come as standard fitment.
Talking about its price expectation, KTM is likely to place the 250 Adventure near Rs 2.10 Lakh mark in India. The Duke 250 goes around Rs 1.9 Lakhs and the bigger 390 Adventure is expected to be around Rs 3 Lakhs.
