Maruti Suzuki is our very Indian brand who is most concerned about the mileage aspect of all the products in has launched and will launch. Its primary concern has been value for money and low running cost for its cars and for the customers too who before coming to a dealership do expect great deals at best possible price.
Since petrol and diesel prices are touching the sky, the need of the hour is to introduce CNG or LPG variants of the existing cars which fit in the budget of most of the customers. Its not that this trend has been initiated lately, its been in the market for quite some time and now the focus is not on bringing in CNG cars but making most of the cars run on CNG.
Chevrolet has also played an important role in establishing CNG vehicles in the Indian automobile industry with Chevrolet Aveo CNG while brands like Toyota are doing their bit by offering optional CNG kits with Corolla and Innova.
The brand to an extent proved to be proactive under such situations and launched Wagon-R LPG variant, Alto CNG, Maruti Zen Estilo CNG in the past and now taking it very seriously, plans to launch 5 CNG vehicles. As mentioned above the company already had plans for Alto CNG and Zen Estilo CNG, while the rest three cars are the Wagon-R CNG, EECO CNG and SX4 CNG which are to be launched on the same day in the second week of August.
We certainly want to see other manufacturers presenting their CNG cars and work together for a greener future.
