The Hero Splendor has been the undisputed leader of commuter bike segment. However, Bajaj Auto Ltd has yet again tried to increase its market share by launching the new 2016 Bajaj Platina ComforTec. The new Platina model builds up on the Platina 100cc model. It is being promoted as a more comfortable motorcycle. The new Platina ComforTec is priced at Rs 43,193 (Ex-showroom, Maharashtra). As we said, the 2016 Bajaj Platina ComforTec has gone on sale at a price of Rs 43,193. The Platina ComfortTec is available in two variants. Here’s the price list-

2016 Bajaj Platina ComforTec Mileage

Bajaj hasn’t yet revealed the technical specifications yet. However, Indian bike buyers have always been fuel mileage conscious. Hence, there’s no wonder Bajaj went ahead and revealed the fuel mileage figures first. As per the company, the new Platina ComforTec has a mileage of 104 KMPL! With such high mileage figures, the 2016 Bajaj Platina ComforTec could become the most fuel efficient bike in the country. The new Platina is even more fuel efficient than the Platina ES (regular) and CT100B (99.1 KMPL). It’s safe to guess that this bike will return around 80 KMPL in real world conditions.

2016 Bajaj Platina ComforTec Specifications

Bajaj is yet to reveal the technical specifications of this bike. However, we know that the Platina ComforTec gets a 102 cc DTS-I engine. This engine is mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. It is safe to guess the engine outputs 8.2 PS at 7,500 rpm and 8.6 Nm at 5,000 rpm.

The 2016 Bajaj Platina ComforTec is an entry-level bike. Hence, it isn’t a feature-rich product. However, there are enough highlights of the 2016 Platina ComforTec to let it stand out. Bajaj insists that the new Platina has 28 per cent longer front suspension travel. It also gets 22 per cent longer rear suspension travel. This will help the bike have 20 percent less jerks than segment-leading motorcycle. The seat is also more comfortable and the footpads get extra rubber. Here are some features highlights-

Bajaj claims that the Platina ComforTec is also more affordable to maintain. It has a service interval of 5,000 kms. The oil change interval has been kept at 10,000 kms. Bajaj claims that the new bike requires 65 percent less maintenance.
