2017 Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR Dark Night Launched!

Getting ready to benefit from the surge in the sales of new motorcycles during the festive period, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd has come up with a new special edition of the Cygnus Ray ZR automatic scooter. The latest limited edition is based on the disc brake variant and comes with a special matte black paint scheme and new graphics. Dubbed as the ‘Dark Night’ edition, the automatic scooter is on sale for a price of Rs.56,898 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Other than the new paint scheme, there is no change in the scooter. Speaking on the launch of the new Dark Night editions of the Cygnus Ray ZR, FZ-S FI and Saluto RX, Mr. Roy Kurian, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said, “Well-endowed across popular motorcycling cultures of the world, Yamaha’s affinity to black body two-wheelers is inspired by its DNA of being sporty and stylish. This uniqueness in Yamaha’s style is now available for the two wheeler buyers in its new variants which are sure to rev hearts.”

2017 Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR Dark Night Price

The new 2017 Cygnus Ray ZR Dark Night special edition is based on the disc brake variant. It is on sale for a price of Rs 56,898 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Compared to the regular disc brake variant, the new Dark Night model costs Rs 1,000. However, the price premium is justified through the special matt black paint job with new graphics. The new paint helps this scooter stand out among the handful of automatic scooters on sale in India.

2017 Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR Dark Night Specs

The scooter doesn’t get any mechanical updates. This means that even the new Dark Night special edition of the Cygnus Ray ZR comes with a single-cylinder 113 cc engine that outputs a maximum power of 7.1 BHp and a peak torque of 8.1 Nm. The engine comes mated to a CVT. The scooter offers both electric and kick start mechanisms. The Cygnus weighs just 103 kgs.

The Cygnus Ray ZR’s engine benefits from Yamaha’s BlueCore technology. This helps the motor deliver a high average mileage. The new 2017 Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR Dark Night special edition has a claimed mileage of 66 KMPL. Even in real world riding conditions, you can safely expect the engine to offer more than 55 KMPL.
