Preparing to cash in on the high demand for new motorcycles during the upcoming festive season, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd has launched a new special edition of its Saluto RX commuter motorcycle. Christened as the ‘Dark Night’ variant, this new model has been launched alongside similar special editions of the Yamaha FZ-S FI motorcycle and Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR automatic scooter. The new 2017 Yamaha Saluto RX Dark Night special edition offers a unique matte black paint scheme that is complemented by special graphics. This makes the motorcycle stand out amongst a plethora of commuter motorcycles on sale in the country. The new Saluto RX Dark Night has a starting price of Rs 48,721 (ex-showroom).

Speaking on the launch of the latest special variants, Mr. Roy Kurian, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. 2017 Yamaha Saluto RX Dark Night Price

The new 2017 Yamaha Saluto RX Dark Night has gone on sale for Rs 48,721 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The bike has an on-road price of Rs 52,222. The new Dark Night doesn’t seem to command any price premium over the regular model. All this means that the new special edition of Yamaha’s bargain basement commuter brings you the exclusivity of a bespoke paint-job without costing more!

2017 Yamaha Saluto RX Dark Night Specs

Powering the Saluto RX is a 110cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that benefits from Yamaha’s Blue Core technology. The motorcycle weighs merely 98 kgs. The motorcycle enjoys a max. power of 7.4 BHP at 7,000 RPM and a peak torque of 8.5 Nm at 4,500 RPM. The engine comes mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The Dark Night special edition gets 130 mm drum brakes at both the wheels. The motorcycle is built around a diamond frame.

2017 Yamaha Saluto RX Dark Night Special Edition Mileage

The Saluto RX has a claimed mileage of 82 KMPL. In real world conditions, however, the Saluto RX will offer a maximum mileage of 70 KMPL. In the worst case scenario, the bike will still offer 60 KMPL.

With a special matte black paint scheme, the motorcycle does stand out among the current crop of entry-level motorcycles.
