2018 Ford EcoSport Signature Edition offers an updated styling
Think again if you ever thought that Ford would stop at bringing the facelift for the EcoSport. The company seems to be planning to launch a special edition of its compact SUV in coming weeks. Dubbed as the Signature Edition, this special variant will offer an updated styling and more features. The 2018 Ford EcoSport Signature Edition was spied completely undisguised recently. The photographer says he spotted a printout reading “JAYEM” kept on the dashboard of the test mule. This could be an indicator of Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotive having a hand in the development of this vehicle. As can be seen in the spy images we have here, the 2018 Ford EcoSport Signature edition features a black decal on the tailgate. There’s also a blue-coloured ‘Signature’ branding below the ‘EcoSport’ badge, a large rear spoiler and a set of new design 17-inch mag wheels. The photographer also says that the front grille has been painted black.

It’s currently not known if the 2018 EcoSport Signature Edition would get any sort of performance upgrades. The car seen in the spy images here is based on the Titanium or the Titanium+ grade. The test mule seems to be equipped with a petrol engine as there’s no TRCH badge on the tailgate. The regular EcoSport offers a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine from the company’s Dragon series of engines. This engine outputs a maximum power of 123 PS at 6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 150 Nm at 4,500 rpm. The motor comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. There’s also an optional six-speed automatic gearbox.
