2018 Mahindra Scorpio goes on sale at an ex-showroom price of Rs 9.97 lakh. Facelift brings in a  host of minor styling changes and a more powerful engine

Mahindra and Mahindra, the popular Indian UV maker, has finally launched the much-awaited facelift of the current generation Scorpio. The new 2018 Mahindra Scorpio goes on sale at an ex-showroom price of Rs 9.97 lakh. It comes with a handful of minor updates on its exterior and the interior. The most significant improvement comes in the form of a more powerful engine. The 2018 Scorpio facelift gets the same 140 BHP 2.2-litre unit that also powers the XUV500.

The new 2018 Scorpio will be available in 6 variants, namely, S3, S5, S7 (120 bhp), S7 (140 bhp), S11 (140 bhp) & S11 (140 bhp with 4WD).  Speaking on the launch, Rajan Wadhera, President – Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said

2018 Mahindra Scorpio Price in India

Prices of the 2018 Scorpio facelift start at Rs 9.97 lakh. The top-end model costs Rs lakh. We will soon update you with full price list. It will be available at Mahindra dealerships starting November 14, 2017 in 5 colour options, namely, new Pearl White (Only in S11), Diamond White (Except S11), Napoli Black, D Sat Silver, Molten Red

2018 Mahindra Scorpio Specifications

Specifications see a major update as the top-end trims of the 2018 model gets the more powerful 2.2-litre Diesel engine from the XUV500. The facelift offers a maximum power of 140 BHP along with a peak torque of 330 Nm. The engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard. 4wd is optional. The facelift offers the Micro Hybrid technology that was available in the earlier model.  Mileage figures might see a slight dip owing to additional power. Expect a claimed average mileage of around 17 kmpl. The lower variants continue with a 5-speed transmission and a 120 hp motor.

2018 Mahindra Scorpio Exterior and Interior

The new Scorpio facelift offers a host of minor styling updates on its exterior and the interior. The highlight of the exterior is a new Jeep Compass-like front grille. Also, the bumpers are new and so are the fog lights. The taillamps get a red-tint and the rear door misses out on the black plastic cladding. The alloy wheels are also new.

Coming to the interior, the cabin gets an upholstery change. There’s also faux leather wrap on the steering wheel and gear lever of top-end variants. Also, there’s a new roof-mounted sunglasses holder. Other than this, there’s nothing new here, really. Of course, you do get a handful of new features that we’ve listed out above. However, the 2018 Mahindra Scorpio facelift is a really minor nip and tuck job.
