2024 Maruti WagonR Facelift Spotted Testing

This post comes from motoroids_india on Instagram. In this image, the rear profile is visible. Interestingly, there is no camouflage on this vehicle. The taillamps bear a smoky black effect while still carrying the vertical orientation. Apart from that, the reflector lights are positioned on the extreme edges of the new sporty bumper. The black elements on the bumper lend a tough appearance to the hatchback. The overall silhouette remains similar to the existing model. Unfortunately, the side and front sections are not visible in this photograph. In any case, I don’t expect radical changes.

Specs

In its current iteration, the Maruti WagonR comes in petrol and CNG variants. There is a 1.0-litre petrol engine which makes 66 PS and 89 Nm of peak power and torque. These figures drop to 57 PS and 82 Nm with CNG fuel. Additionally, there is also a 1.2-litre petrol mill which churns out 90 PS and 113 Nm of peak power and torque. This is the same engine which powers the Swift and Baleno. There are options of choosing between either a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic transmission. The prices range from Rs 5.54 lakh to Rs 7.42 lakh, ex-showroom.

Author’s Note

Maruti WagonR is a name synonymous with success for the largest carmaker in India. It has been at the top half of the sales charts in our market ever since its inception back in 1999. With over 23 years of existence, the Japanese carmaker has ensured that with regular updates, it keeps the product fresh. Additionally, its low maintenance costs, high mileage, latest features, multiple powertrain options and dense service network are some key reasons why people still love it today. With the facelift model, this charm is likely to be sustained even in its next phase of existence.
