The 2024 Tata Nexon facelift is easily among the most awaited cars in the segment. While already a best-seller, the upcoming enhancements should make the Tata B-SUV a formidable offering. Recently, a test mule sighting has revealed some intriguing updates, including a hidden rear wiper similar to the Hyundai Tucson! While official details are scarce, here’s all the available information on the upcoming Maruti Brezza-rival.

2024 Tata Nexon to Offer AVINYA-inspired Styling

The 2024 Tata Nexon facelift will sport a top-mounted rear wiper, akin to the Hyundai Tucson. Such wipers remain concealed behind the roof-spoiler until activated. This innovative design not only enhances the aesthetics but also improves functionality during rainy weather. Moreover, the SUV will bear many styling updates. The front-end could take inspiration from the futuristic AVINYA concept. The rear-end will get connected taiilamps, something already confirmed in some of the sightings.

Revamped Interior with New Features

The latest sighting let’s us have another glimpse of the cabin. A highlight of the interior will be the introduction of the segment-first digital steering wheel. While this promises to offer a futuristic driving experience, there are reservations regarding its practicality. Drivers might take some time to adapt to this advanced technology, but only time will tell how well it performs in real-world scenarios. Nevertheless, it is an exciting feature to look forward to. In fact, even the traditional HVAC controls will give way to an all-digital setup. Again, this is something that might polarise opinions. Additionally, the facelift will feature purple-colored seat upholstery, thereby adding some more uniqueness to the cabin.

The novelties don’t end here. The 2024 Tata Nexon facelift will come with many more new elements. The metallic pedal shifters behind the two-spoke steering wheel will provide a sporty touch, while the 360ยฐ camera enhances safety during parking and manoeuvring. Even the safety suite will get a pretty big update.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

A highlight of the safety package for the new Nexon will be the ADAS active safety features. This will make it a step closer to achieving the highest safety rating as per stringent test norms. While the previous model was rated 5 stars by Global NCAP, the updated norms require the inclusion of 6 airbags and traction control as standard to be eligible for a 4 or 5-star rating. Not wanting to settle for anything but a full score, Tata Motors might equip all the variants with the necessary safety features.

2024 Tata Nexon Specifications

The second facelift for the Nexon could debut with an all-new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The new motor could offer 125 PS and 225 Nm, along with a much higher refinement than the current three-cylinder mill. Transmission options will likely include a 6-seed manual and a 6-speed DCT. The current 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine will continue, albeit, with suitable updates. IN its current form, the oil-burner offers 110 PS and 260 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT.

What We Think

The 2024 Tata Nexon facelift will likely debut with some segment-first features that could work in favour of the dated SUV. Bits like ADAS and AVINYA-inspired styling should help the new model pass off for a thorough update even though the carmaker is unlikely to ditch the X1 platform that debuted on the Indica back in 1998. With an emphasis on modern features and futuristic styling, the facelift is likely to help the SUV maintain its popularity.
