After numerous EPC complaints by Skoda Kushaq owners, the question arises, it the Kushaq compatible with only the premium petrol? Kushaq is the new and important product for Skoda in its India operations. With the new MQB A0 IN platform specifically developed for India, Skoda knew that this could mark the beginning of their second innings in this market. A lot is riding on this mid-size SUV competition against the likes of Creta and Seltos. However, even since the deliveries of the Kushaq began, there have been many instances of the car stopping while driving in the middle of the road with an EPC error symbol on the instrument cluster. Skoda Kushaq Premium Petrol
While refuelling, a Kushaq owner observed what had been written on the inside of the fuel lid of the SUV. The carmaker has recommended using min 91 octane petrol and if possible 95 octane fuel. Now, these could be termed as premium fuels and cost higher than the regular fuel. Many owners struggling with the EPC error are asked to replace the fuel pump, according to this owner. He thinks that the problem could be because of using regular fuel. Zac Hollis has assured the customers struggling with the EPC issue that engineers in India and Europe are looking into the matter and the exact reason is not known. Therefore, it is best if we reserve our comments on the exact reason for the EPC issue just yet. But we hope that this problem gets resolved quickly so that people start buying Kushaq without any with a peaceful mind.

Powertrain options include a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine, making 115 PS and 175 Nm and its bigger sibling, the 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol unit making 150 PS and 250 Nm in action with the Kushaq. Complementing the 1.0-litre engine is either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The larger 1.5-litre unit comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG (DCT) gearbox. The prices of the Kushaq range between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 17.59 lakh, ex-showroom.
