The production spec of the Maruti Celerio has started arriving at the dealerships. This indicates the official launch soon. The Celerio has been spotted doing test runs for quite some time now. We expected it to hit the showrooms during the festive season of 2021. This might finally happen with the final version that has been spotted being transported to the showrooms. The new Celerio will be based on the Heartect platform and will likely be larger in overall dimensions than the outgoing model. Production Spec Celerio Arrives at Dealerships
By the looks of it, this Celerio resembles the headlamps on the Alto 800 but also features the chrome slab on the front grille like the new-gen Swift. Hence, it is safe to say that it will resemble other Maruti products but will still have a distinct character. The alloy wheels finished in black are unique to Celerio. The side profile doesn’t feature any sharp creases or lines and is relatively simple. The taillamps are also quite different to the one on the previous model.
The overall silhouette follows a round-body pattern in contrast to sharp creases on the outgoing model. The interiors of the Celerio have been spotted earlier and will likely feature a touchscreen digital infotainment system taking the centre stage. It will have all the modern features.

Under the hood, while the 1.0-litre petrol engine making 67 hp and 90 Nm will continue to power the new Celerio, there might also be the option of 1.2-litre 83 hp and 113 Nm engine on offer for the top trim as well. The transmission duties will most likely be carried by a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. Currently, the prices of the Maruti Celerio range between Rs 4.65 lakh and Rs 6 lakh, ex-showroom. We expect a slight increase in the prices of the new Celerio. Celerio features in a very interesting segment that sits just below the Swift. Hence, the real competition might come from its own sibling, the WagonR. Also, Hyundai Santro and Renault Kwid seem to be the other alternatives for the potential customers in this segment.
