New Hyundai Creta Facelift N-Line

New Hyundai Creta Facelift N-Line

With a vivid aim of expanding its popular N-Line series in India, Hyundai has the Creta N-Line in the pipeline. Note that the N-Line portfolio differs from the massively popular N Division of Hyundai which makes some of the most performance-focused vehicles on the planet. The N-Line is, essentially, a marginally tweaked version of existing models and powertrains like the i20 and Venue with 1.0-litre turbo petrol mills. There are aesthetic modifications and certain tweaks in the mechanicals like steering feedback and suspension to offer a bit better driving dynamics. With over 10,000 units sold in India in 2023 under the N-Line badge, the Korean carmaker now plans to add the Creta to that lineup going forward.

This latest image from an auto accessories shop reveals the new alloy wheels for the N-Line variant of the new Creta. These images come from VG Auto Accessories YT and Team BHP. The Creta N-Line has been spotted performing testing for a few months now. With the accessories already making their way into the market, we expect the launch to take place in the next couple of months. There are bound to be aesthetic changes in comparison to the regular model. Apart from that, it could also get some mechanical enhancements to create an engaging driving experience. It will rival something like the Kia Seltos GT in India.

Specs

The regular Hyundai Creta comes with either a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo diesel or the most powerful 1.5-litre turbo petrol. Since the N-Line always utilizes the most potent powertrain option available in the lineup, the Creta N-Line will use the 1.5-litre turbo petrol which generates 160 PS and 253 Nm of peak power and torque. There will be a sporty 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox with this engine. Note that DCTs are the most common transmission options where performance is at the top of the priority list. Just like the N-Line versions of the i20 and Venue, the Creta N-Line will also boast a slight premium in terms of pricing over its top trim.

Author’s Note

Hyundai has always been proactive in creating new categories in the market. We saw this with the i20 back in 2014. It led to the creation of a premium hatchback segment. Now, the N-Line department is garnering the interest of many new buyers looking for spirited performance without having to spend an exorbitant amount on hardcore performance cars. The uptick in N-Line sales for two years is a testament to corroborate that claim. Going forward, Hyundai is planning to introduce N-Line versions of its other cars like the Verna as well. We shall keep an eye out for further developments in this space.
