Bajaj Pulsar N125 vs TVS Raider 125 Specs Features Price Comparison

The new Bajaj Pulsar N125 is now on sale in our market which warrants a comparison with a similarly-sized rival

This post compares the new Bajaj Pulsar N125 and TVS Raider 125 in terms of price, specs and features. Pulsar is a household name in India. Leveraging its popularity, Bajaj has introduced some model of the bike in every major segment. That makes it a widely famous nameplate. Carrying forward this trend, the new Pulsar N125 is here. On the other hand, even TVS offers all sorts of models for the Indian market. Its Raider 125 is a prominent product for those who want decent performance at an affordable price point. For now, let us compare the two to see which one makes better sense for you.

Bajaj Pulsar N125 vs TVS Raider 125 – Price

Let us start with arguably the most important aspect, the price. India is a price-conscious market. The decision of which vehicle to buy depends largely on this factor for most customers. The new Bajaj Pulsar has a retail price between Rs 94,707 and Rs 98,707, ex-showroom. That is quite enticing. On the other hand, the TVS Raider 125 ranges from Rs 84,869 to Rs 1.04 lakh, ex-showroom. Hence, the Raider 125 has a more affordable starting price, while the Pulsar N125 has the edge in the top variant.

Bajaj Pulsar N125 vs TVS Raider 125 – Specs

Next up, we evaluate the specifications of both these models to compare the performances. On the one hand, we have the new Bajaj Pulsar N125. It comes with a 124.59-cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine which generates a healthy 12 PS (8.82 kW) @8,500 RPM and 11 Nm @6,000 RPM of peak power and torque. This engine pairs with a 5-speed transmission. This combination propels the bike to the best-in-segment acceleration from 0 to 60 km/h. It gets CBS (Combined Braking System) as standard. At the front, there is a 240 mm disc and a 130 mm drum at the rear. The bike boasts 17-inch wheels with an 80/100 section tyre at the front and a 110/80 section tyre at the rear. With a handy ground clearance of 198 mm, the users can take on any terrain without breaking a sweat. The front section has a 125 mm telescopic front suspension and the rear has a preload-adjustable monoshock absorber.

On the other hand, even the TVS Raider 125 is well-equipped in this regard. It has a 124.8-cc air- and oil-cooled BS6 engine which is able to generate a handy 11.38 PS @7,500 RPM and 11.2 Nm @6,000 RPM of peak power and torque. Performing the transmission duties is a 5-speed manual gearbox with a wet multi-plate clutch. The fuel tank capacity is a decent 10 litres. It offers a ground clearance of a slightly lower 180 mm which is still great in comparison to other bikes. It has a 240 mm disc at the front and 130 mm drum at the rear. Also, the front has a telescopic suspension, while the rear has a 5-step gas-charged adjustable monoshock absorber. With a wheelbase of 1,326 mm, there is sufficient room for two riders to operate comfortably. Hence, there isn’t much to choose between these two.

My View

Now, I understand that choosing between these two motorcycles can be a bit tricky. Still, there are some clear use-case scenarios which you need to consider while making a decision. For instance, if you are looking for an absolute budget-friendly option with decent performance and enough basic features, the TVS Raider 125 can be on your radar. It does most things right and will be ideal for most people. However, if you want the perfect balance between affordability, features, aesthetics, and performance, the new Bajaj Pulsar N125 makes a lot of sense. The fact that it is a brand-new product also plays in its favour. In any case, it is hard to go wrong with either of these compelling propositions.
