In general, the Mahindra Thar comes with three powertrain alternatives – a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol, a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo diesel and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel (exclusively for the RWD trim) engine. These generate 150 hp / 300 Nm, 130 hp / 300 Nm and 115 hp / 300 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. Performing the transmission duties is either a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. The higher petrol and diesel trims offer 4×4 configurations. Overall, the prices range from Rs 11.35 lakh to Rs 17.60 lakh, ex-showroom.

My View
Mahindra Thar is the most successful off-roading SUV in the country. It has been around for a long time now. Off-roading enthusiasts swear by its name. In all honesty, the vehicle has displayed great achievements over the years. Therefore, I believe this is a great opportunity to grab these unprecedented deals on the Mahindra Thar 4×4 Earth Edition.
