The once popular mid-size SUV is set to make an exciting comeback to the Indian market
The new Renault Duster will arrive on our shores before the end of this year, our source confirmed. Duster holds a special place in the hearts of Indian car buyers. This is because it is responsible for the creation of the mid-size SUV segment. In fact, it was a successful product in this space for a long time. However, with time, many other rivals joined to compete in this category, and the French carmaker didn’t upgrade it enough to entice new buyers. Hence, it was discontinued in India back in 2022. Now, the next-gen model will strengthen Renault’s portfolio yet again.
New Renault Duster India Launch Around Year-End
One of our sources informed us that we will most likely witness the new Renault Duster in India around the end of this year. We have already seen the SUV in the flesh as it has been launched in many international markets. Renault is having a decent time at the sales charts with its Kwid, Kiger and Triber trio. These have not just been successful in India, but also contribute heavily to Renault’s export numbers. Clearly, there is a huge demand for practical and affordable cars like these in many parts of the world.
New Renault Duster
The mid-size SUV has already been revealed in global markets. So, its design is no longer a secret. It features a bold, muscular look with rugged styling. At the front, it gets Renault lettering on the grille, tri-arrow LED DRLs placed within the LED headlamps, and a tough-looking bumper with fog lamps on both sides. The side profile shows off large wheel arches, side cladding, stylish alloy wheels, blacked-out pillars, and roof rails for added practicality. At the rear, one will notice a sporty roof spoiler, a shark fin antenna, a sturdy bumper, and taillamps placed on the outer edges of the boot lid. While the Indian model may undergo some changes, most of these design details are expected to stay the same.
Inside, the SUV offers all the modern features and tech amenities. There is a chunky steering wheel with media controls, a digital driver’s display, a floating touchscreen infotainment system, AC vents with tri-arrow styling, a textured dashboard, physical HVAC controls, a rotary drive mode selector, USB ports for charging, and a roomy cabin. It also comes with a unique hexagonal steering wheel. Engine options abroad include a 1.3-litre turbo petrol, a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, and a new 1.0-litre turbo petrol from the Magnite. However, it is unclear which engines will be offered in India. Stay tuned for more updates on the India-spec version.
