Indian creators are some of the most impressive in the world and this is the latest example of that
A college student ended up creating India’s first AI-powered driverless electric bike. Shivam, a 24-year-old YouTuber, hails from Surat, Gujarat. With close to 2 million followers, the man keeps coming up with professional and hardcore DIY projects for his viewers. This time around, he has invented something truly unique and massive. He has devised an autonomous electric super bike with a hubless configuration. Let us glance at the details of this case here.
India’s First AI-Powered Driverless Electric Bike
This video stems from startup.pedia on Instagram. It captures Shivam explaining about his innovation, Garuda. With an investment of Rs 1.8 lakh, he purchased tools, equipment, a motor, and used his workshop to come up with the design of this bike. All in all, it took him nearly a year to complete this ambitious project. It all started when he was in class 9. He created an electric motor setup to be installed on his cycle to make his journey to the school easier. That is when he uploaded the entire creation process of YouTube and the video went viral.
His first payment from YouTube was Rs 48,000. There was no looking back from thereon. He continued to reinvest money into the business. Hence, he now has his own workshop, where he creates all sorts of projects. Talking about this hubless electric superbike, the overall design looks like it is straight out of a sci-fi movie. One can run it in three modes – manual, phone-controlled and fully autonomous. That is pretty cool and is a testament to how extensive work has been done on this bike.
Another key aspect of this electric bike is the number of advanced sensors and cameras installed to detect objects up to 12 feet away. Furthermore, the bike applies brakes automatically once the obstacles come any closer than 3 feet. Also, it gets GPS navigation, live rider display, real-time visuals via the camera, wireless charging, calling functionality, WhatsApp and Instagram message notifications, drive modes – Eco and Sport, range of 200 km in Eco and 160 km in Sport, and much more. I hope we keep witnessing more and more innovative creations from the youth of our nation going forward.
