The updated mid-size SUV has been spied testing for many weeks now
The new Skoda Kushaq facelift has finally been launched in the Indian market. Kushaq features in one of the most competitive market segments out there. Hence, carmakers need to put their best foot forward if they wish to survive in this mid-size SUV category. As anticipated, the changes are mostly to the exterior to set it apart from the outgoing model. Additionally, the features list has become even more inviting, while the transmission option has also been updated this time around. There are three new colours on offer – Shimla Green, Steel Grey and Cherry Red. A regular electric sunroof will be standard across the range, while the higher trims will come with a large panoramic sunroof. The pricing details will announced at a later stage.
New Skoda Kushaq Facelift Launched – Exterior Styling
The facelift iteration of the new Skoda Kushaq contains a refreshed exterior styling. At the front, we see a broad grille with illumination, flanked by attractive LED headlamps and LED DRLs on the edges. The bumper is quite muscular and sporty with a skid plate section, accentuating its stance. The bonnet continues to carry the contours. The side section contains rugged roof rails, elegant new 17-inch alloys, side body cladding, chrome belt around the windows, and prominent wheel arches. Completing the exterior appearance are the LED taillamps at the rear connected via a light bar with illuminated Skoda lettering, a chrome belt on the boot lid, sequential rear turn indicators and a solid bumper with adventurous silver cladding on the lower end. Overall, the design updates are certainly enough to distinguish it from the pre-facelift avatar.

Specs
The new Skoda Kushaq facelift still draws power from two turbo petrol mills – a 1.0-litre TSI and a 1.5-litre TSI. These deliver a healthy 115 PS / 178 Nm and 150 PS / 250 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. However, the biggest change with the new SUV is the transmission options. These mills can be paired with a sole 8-speed torque converter with both 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre units, while the 7-speed DSG is exclusively available with the 1.5-litre engine. Note that the 8-speed torque converter gearbox is the first-in-segment. As per the Skoda Supercar package, the buyers get 4 years / 1,00,000 km warranty, 4 years RSA and 4 labour-free services. Standard warranty can be extended to 2 years to reach 6 years.

Having closely followed the evolution of the mid-size SUV space in India, the Kushaq facelift feels like Skoda finally responding to what this segment truly demands, more features, stronger visual appeal and better drivability options. The addition of a first-in-segment 8-speed torque converter is particularly smart, considering Indian buyers’ growing preference for smoother, more reliable automatics over dual-clutch units. With this update, Skoda is clearly aiming to regain lost ground against segment heavyweights like the Creta and Seltos, and on paper, the Kushaq now looks far more competitive than before.
