New 2026 Tata Tigor Facelift Spotted Testing

The compact sedan received a thorough update last year and we will see the facelift pretty soon

The new Tata Tigor facelift has commenced road testing in India. Tigor is a popular compact sedan, which is, in essence, the sedan version of the Tiago. It rivals the likes of the Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze in our market. This is a tough category to dominate, but the Tigor has been doing it for a while now. Available in ICE, electric and CNG versions, the Indian auto giant has tried to leave no stone unturned to pamper the customers. Also, it boasts a 4-star Global NCAP safety rating, ahead of any other vehicle in this space. For now, let us check out the details of what the facelift model could offer.

The visuals of this post stem from carindianews on Instagram. We witness the camouflaged compact sedan amidst heavy traffic on the streets. Even though the overall silhouette will remain the same, we can expect things like a revised fascia and tail section with new LED lighting, redesigned bumpers, a new grille, new taillamps and stylish new alloy wheels. All these elements will enhance the stance and road presence of the vehicle. In fact, that is typically what facelift models come equipped with.

On the inside, the cabin will be feature-laden, which is something new-age customers truly appreciate. Hence, we can expect things like a digital driver’s instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto-folding ORVMs, automatic air conditioning, and much more. We know that Tata Motors loves to offers all sorts of amenities in their models regardless of the segment.

In terms of specifications, there is no reason to believe that the car will come with any changes in comparison to the existing version. This means a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol mill with a CNG option. These will be mated to a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox to suit the needs of all sorts of buyers. With the CNG avatar, the twin-cylinder technology will ensure that the boot space is maximized. Hence, there won’t be any changes to the powertrain and transmission alternatives.

Editor’s Note

The 2026 Tata Tigor facelift is an interesting update to watch, especially in a segment where buyers are increasingly gravitating towards compact SUVs. The Tigor has managed to retain its relevance by offering a practical sedan package with petrol and CNG options, and Tata could use this facelift to make it even more appealing. While the expected styling and feature upgrades should freshen things up, the absence of major powertrain changes could mean that the facelift is more about refinement than transformation. It will be interesting to see how Tata positions the updated Tigor against the Dzire, Aura and Amaze once it officially arrives. – Yatharth Chauhan, Managing Editor
