The large SUV will draw inspiration from the latest Toyota Hilux pickup truck
The upcoming new Toyota Innova Hycross is about to make its entry into the Indian market as the test mule has already started appearing in spy media. The Hycross is among the most successful products in the country in the niche segment it operates in. Its premium cabin, imposing road presence, fuel-efficient hybrid engine and reliability are some of the reasons why consumers are drawn towards it. Now, with the facelift, there will be even more elements on offer. Let us check out what the latest spy media captured.
New Toyota Innova Hycross Spotted Testing
The post stems from motor_mitra on Instagram. It captures the heavily camouflaged SUV plying on busy roads. At the front, we get a glimpse of the sharp LED lighting and a sporty bumper, while the section showcases the sheer wheelbase of the large SUV. Finally, the tail end captures the roof-mounted spoiler, a shark fin antenna and a sporty bumper. It is possible that the new Hycross will share the aesthetics with the new Hilux that was launched in India a few weeks ago.
On the inside, the details at this moment are limited. Nevertheless, we can expect the cabin to be feature-rich and possess high-quality materials throughout. In terms of powertrain options, there is no reason to believe that the SUV will bear any changes in comparison to what it is being offered with currently. Hence, the strong hybrid option will suit the needs of those customers who love to travel long distances with family. More details will emerge in the coming days.
Editor’s Note
The new Toyota Innova Hycross facelift could be an important update for a model that has already carved out a strong position in the premium family MPV space. The possibility of Hilux-inspired styling should give it a more rugged character, while the spacious cabin and strong-hybrid powertrain are likely to remain its biggest strengths. At this stage, the spy shots reveal very little about the actual changes, so it would be premature to expect major alterations beyond the design and feature updates. Still, given how popular the Hycross has become, even a modest facelift could help Toyota keep the model fresh and competitive. – Yatharth Chauhan, Managing Editor
