Aakash Minda Becomes The First Owner of Rs 1.31 Crore Mahindra Thar Roxx #1

An auction was conducted for the first Mahindra Thar Roxx with VIN 0001 with the amount allotted for donation purposes

Aakash Minda of Minda Group is the proud owner of the first Mahindra Thar Roxx. Note that he ended up bidding Rs 1.31 Crore to get the SUV with VIN 001. Roxx is the 5-door iteration of the famed Thar. The Thar moniker is the most revered name among off-roading enthusiasts across the nation. It has been around for over one and a half decades now. To cater to a wide range of customers, the Indian auto giant launched the 5-door version of the regular Thar. It created a record for bagging a jaw-dropping 1.76 lakh bookings within the first hour itself. That is a testament to the popularity of the off-roading machine.

Aakash Minda Gets First-Ever Mahindra Thar Roxx

The auction for the first Mahindra Thar Roxx was organized from September 15 to September 16, 2024. Among 20 active bidders, Aakash Minda placed the winning bid of a mind-boggling Rs 1.31 Crore to get his hands on the first Mahindra Thar Roxx. You would be surprised to know that he did the same with the 3-door version of the Thar back in 2020 as well. Hence, he is clearly a Thar aficionado and loves to associate with charitable causes. Speaking of that, the Rs 1.31 Crore amount will go to the Naandi Foundation. What is even more impressive is that Mahindra will match the winning bid and donate to this foundation. Aakash remarked, “It is an incredible feeling to be part of this remarkable journey.”

The 5-door off-roader comes with the choice of two powertrain options – a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol mill OR a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo diesel engine. The former is good for 162 PS (MT) / 330 Nm to 177 PS (AT) / 380 Nm, while the latter generates a decent 163 PS (MT) / 330 Nm and 175 PS / 370 Nm of peak power and torque with a 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, respectively. However, the main aspect of a Thar is its immensely sophisticated 4×4 capabilities. At the moment, these are available with the higher diesel variants. The prices range from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 22.49 lakh, ex-showroom.
