Bajaj’s Pulsar series has long been a symbol of flamboyance and performance in the Indian motorcycle market. With an offering for almost every segment, the Bajaj Pulsar range has garnered a dedicated fan base. While the Bajaj Pulsar RS1200 seen here could be a dream come true for Pulsar fanboys, it’s essential to clarify that Bajaj currently uses the Dominar moniker for its higher-capacity motorcycles. Nevertheless, let’s delve into the exciting world of digital artists who have envisioned what a 1200cc Pulsar RS could look like.

Bajaj Pulsar RS122 Digital Rendering

This rendering comes from digital artist abin_designs_511 on Instagram. Basically, it reimagines the Pulsar RS200 with a beefy silhouette reminiscent of some superbikes. In this conceptual design, we can see a muscular fuel tank, an aggressive front section, sleek body graphics with 1200 motifs, and an overall sporty aesthetic. The bike features a compact handlebar, black side panels, an underbelly cover for protection, a split-seat setup, a sleek tail section, and large alloy wheels both at the front and rear, complete with LED taillamps.

While the dream of a Bajaj Pulsar RS1200 is exciting, Bajaj’s current lineup includes the Dominar 400, powered by a KTM-sourced 373-cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that generates 43 PS and 35 Nm of peak power and torque. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper-and-assist clutch, this engine provides a smooth and powerful ride. Dual-channel ABS ensures superior stopping power. The Dominar 400 is currently priced at Rs 2.30 lakh, ex-showroom.

The Legacy of Pulsar

The sales of the Bajaj Dominar 400 have not been top-notch. This has often lead to speculation about the future of this model. Some enthusiasts hope that Bajaj might consider introducing the Pulsar tag in the 400-cc segment, leveraging the rich legacy of the Pulsar brand in the Indian market. Such a move could help Bajaj dominate the 300-400cc segment, offering a fresh and exciting alternative in the face of increasing competition.

What We Think:

While the Bajaj Pulsar RS1200 remains a digital concept for now, it’s a testament to the enduring popularity and appeal of the Pulsar brand among motorcycle enthusiasts. While Bajaj currently uses the Dominar moniker for its higher-capacity motorcycles, the dream of a new Pulsar flagship lives on in the hearts of Pulsar fanboys. We’ll have to wait and see if Bajaj decides to make this dream a reality in the ever-evolving world of Indian motorcycles.
