Benelli Tornado 302 Launched In India, Price Rs 3.48 Lakh!

Regulars here would know that we were the first to reveal that DSK-Benelli is gearing up to launch its Tornado 302 sportsbike in India in July this year. Now, the manufacturer has finally launched the new motorcycle in India. Bookings for the much-anticipated sportsbike have been underway for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The Benelli Tornado 302 India debut took place at the Auto Expo 2016 and more than a year later, the sportsbike is finally here. The Tornado 302 has been priced in India at Rs 3.48 lakh. The new Tornado 302 is essentially a full-fairing version of the TNT 300 streetnaked that’s been on sale here since some time now. No wonder then, that, the 302 shares in plenty with its naked sibling. The Tornado 302 gets ABS, an important safety feature, as standard. It will boast the same 300cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that powers the TNT 300. This engine outputs a max. power of 38.8 BHP and a peak torque of 26.5 Nm. The new Benelli bike in India is built on a steel-tube trellis frame. In India, this bike mainly rivals the likes of Yamaha R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 300.

Benelli Tornado 302 Price in India

The Benelli Tornado 302 sports a price tag of Rs 3.48 lakh (ex-showroom price, pan-India). At this price, the bike rivals the soon-to-be-relaunched Yamaha YZF-R3 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300. While that price seems a bit on the higher side, this bike comes via the CBU route to India. However, it still holds a slight price advantage over the Kawasaki Ninja 300 (Rs. 3.60 Lakh).

Benelli Tornado 302 Specifications

The Tornado shares its engine with the TNT 300. This means it comes with a 300cc, twin-pot motor that outputs as much as 38.8 BHP and 26.5 Nm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Suspension duties are taken care of by a set of inverted forks up front and a monoshock at the rear.

Benelli Tornado 302 Mileage

The Tornado 300 gets the same engine that powers the TNT 300. As this bike gets the same engine as the TNT 300, the mileage figure too shouldn’t be too different. We expect the bike to offer a mileage of upto 30 KMPL on the highway and around 25 KMPL in the city.

The bike has a true top speed speed of 154 KMPH. Thanks to a full-fairing, the rider is unlikely to be bothered by the wind blast at such high speeds. With a top speed of more than 150 KMPH, the Tornado is sure to become of the fastest bikes in its price bracket.

Official figures state that this sportsbike from Benelli can dismiss 100 KMPH from standstill in just 8.34 seconds. A sub-9 seconds 0-100 KMPH time from a sportsbike with a 300cc seconds is a pretty respectable figure. This is even more impressive when you consider the fact that this bike has a kerb weight of 198kg.
