Akash Deep Receives RTO Notice After Buying Toyota Fortuner

The young Indian cricketer fulfilled his dream of owning the famed 7-seat off-roading SUV recently

Indian cricketer Akash Deep got his hands on a swanky new Toyota Fortuner a few days ago. However, he has been slapped with an RTO notice already. Akash is a right-arm fast bowler and a right-handed lower-order batsman. He made his test debut for India in February 2024 against England and was also a part of the team in the recently concluded England test series, which ended in a 2-2 draw. In the IPL, he plays for the Lucknow Super Giants. He has impressed a lot of experts and looks to be a promising player for the future. For now, let us delve into the details of this latest incident.

Akash Deep Receives RTO Notice After Buying New Toyota Fortuner

The specifics of this case stem from Cars For You on YouTube. The host explains the details of the entire saga. Firstly, when the cricketer posted the image of his new SUV along with his family members, the RTO took notice and highlighted that the car doesn’t have the HSRP (High Security Registration Plate). Furthermore, the cricketer must also wait to use the car on public roads until the 3rd registration plate sticker arrives. It is a square sticker pasted on the vehicle’s windshield, indicating the fuel type.

Finally, the Vahan app also shows that the process of temporary number and registration is incomplete. Because of all these factors, the RTO has issued a notice to the cricketer, asking him not to use the car until these formalities are complete. In all honesty, these are mandatory regulations needed for a vehicle to be road legal. I am certain that Akash Deep will fix these issues and won’t disobey the rules. I shall keep an eye out for further developments in this case.

Toyota Fortuner

The prominent SUV carries a 2.7-litre petrol mill, which produces a humble 164 hp and 245 Nm and a 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine, which belts out a massive 201 hp and 420 Nm (500 Nm with automatic transmission) of peak power and torque, respectively. These mills can be paired with a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission. The hardcore 4×4 capabilities have been reserved for the higher diesel variants. At present, the prices range from Rs 36.05 lakh to Rs 52.34 lakh, ex-showroom.
