First Skoda Slavia with Nardo Grey Wrap

This has to be India’s first Skoda Slavia with a premium Nardo Grey wrap. Slavia is among the most popular premium mid-size sedans for those who seek driving dynamics. Kushaq marked the beginning of the Czech carmaker’s comeback in India when their previous-generation products were not doing well here. This car really started the change, and the next model, Slavia, solidified Skoda’s position in India. In fact, India became Skoda’s biggest market outside Europe after its sales in Russia were affected by an ongoing crisis. Let us take a look at the details of the modifications on this Slavia.

The video comes from ARAV SETHI on YouTube. He gives a walkaround tour of this heavily modified sedan. Firstly, the Nardo Grey wrap looks absolutely stunning. First made popular by Audi, it slowly became the preferred colour for a lot of aftermarket modifications. In addition, the owner has de-chromed the entire car. This includes the front grille, Skoda badging at the front and rear, rear spoiler, headlamps, taillamps, etc. Then there are additional bits to make it appear more aggressive and mean. This includes things like a front splitter, side body cladding, rear diffuser, new projector fog lamps and more. The owner spent around Rs 2.5 lakh for all these customizations.

Specs

The Skoda Slavia is available with two engines – a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre EVO turbo petrol. These engines churn out a decent peak power and torque – 115 hp and 178 Nm for the smaller one, and 150 hp and 250 Nm for the larger one. The first engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission, while the second engine is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG (DCT) automatic transmission. Slavia’s price ranges from Rs 11.39 lakh to Rs 18.68 lakh, ex-showroom.

What We Think

In recent years, there has been a growing trend of modifying cars after purchase in our country. As part of this trend, people are getting more involved in making various personalized changes to their vehicles to give them a unique look. Two popular ways to quickly change a car’s overall appearance are by putting on a new coloured wrap or adding aftermarket alloy wheels. While we admire when a car has a well-done wrap, we also need to mention that changing a vehicle’s colour isn’t allowed by law. If you’re interested in doing so, you’ll need to visit your local RTO and officially update your registration certificate (RC) to reflect the change.
