This dealership comes up ahead of VinFast’s electric vehicle plant inauguration
The Vietnamese car marque, VinFast, has opened its first showroom in India in Surat, Gujarat. VinFast is preparing to commence operations in India soon. It will initially launch two electric SUVs to test the market. We know that the EV industry is growing rapidly in our country. Many new and legacy carmakers have already introduced tons of new models in recent times. In fact, there are decent options for EV buyers in just about every major category. Hence, the Vietnamese auto giant wants to grab a part of India’s burgeoning EV space.
VinFast Opens First Showroom in India
VinFast has opened a new dealership in Piplod, Surat. The 3,000 sq.ft. facility will offer electric SUV buyers a complete experience – from exploring vehicles to purchasing and after-sales service. The showroom will display the upcoming VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs. The company began accepting pre-bookings for these models on July 15, 2025. Customers can book a vehicle either online via VinFast’s website or by visiting a showroom. The booking amount is Rs 21,000 and is fully refundable. VinFast plans to open 35 dealerships across more than 27 cities in India by the end of the year.
Vehicles will be assembled locally at a new factory in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. This step shows VinFast’s long-term investment in India and its goal to make the country a key hub for electric vehicle manufacturing. To support its rollout, VinFast has partnered with several companies. It is working with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to build a network for EV charging and customer service. It has also teamed up with BatX Energies, an Indian clean-tech company, to recycle batteries and support a circular economy. With these moves, VinFast aims to grow its presence in India and support a cleaner, more sustainable future for mobility.
