Ford Raptor Pickup Truck Spotted in India

Ford Raptor is one of the most iconic pickup trucks in the U.S. and arguably the most well-known across the globe. It is an iteration of the iconic F-150.

The streets of India became host to a Ford Raptor Pickup Truck recently. Now, the Raptor, more commonly known as the F-150 because of being essentially the same product, is the highest-selling pickup truck in the U.S. for over 40 years now. In fact, to continue that legacy, Ford has launched the electric version of the same, called the F-150 Lightning. For off-road lovers of the world, Raptor is revered. Hence, it was quite a pleasant surprise to witness the road presence commanded by a Ford Raptor in our country.

The description of this video on YouTube informs that the Raptor has been spotted in Bangalore. Also, the number plate suggests that this luxury pickup truck has been imported from Dubai. Needless to say, the pickup truck oozes masculinity and impressive road presence, particularly when it takes turns into the quaint and narrow lanes around the housing areas. In fact, it is barely able to manoeuvre freely as most parking spaces and U-turn spots are too narrow for the over 5 m-long SUV. It is most likely to have been imported using the ATA Carnet passport.

ATA Carnet refers to a Temporary Admission permit that allows anyone from any country to import or export non-perishable items without paying any tax or duty. It is a widely accepted international customs document that is not that hard to get. Its validity is 1 year from the date of issue and allows multiple entries into multiple countries in that 1 year. The ATA Carnet is jointly administered by the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) through its World Chambers Federation.
