New RE Himalayan 450 Pangong Lake

In this latest video, a foreigner takes the new RE Himalayan 450 on a ride along the iconic Pangong Lake in Ladakh. This lake stretches over 134 km between India and China. Please keep in mind that this is a pre-production model. Royal Enfield is currently working on enhancing the Himalayan model after unveiling the new Bullet 350. This updated version is expected to feature a range of improvements, with the most significant being the introduction of a new engine. Additionally, it’s safe to say that we can expect some changes to the bike’s appearance. The official launch will take place on November 7, 2023. Now, let’s delve into the specifics of this exciting new off-road motorcycle.

This video comes from Itchy Boots on YouTube. She is a popular YouTuber who took the last-gen Himalayan across the globe from India to the Netherlands. This time around, Royal Enfield has provided the new Himalayan for her to ride across the natural habitat of this bike, the Himalayas. She is currently at the Pangong Lake. From there, she is en route to Leh. On her way, she comes across some insanely gorgeous mountains, landscapes and lakes. That is the reason why people from across the country, and the world come here, especially on their motorcycles. The topography is just breathtaking. She is enjoying the ride on this Himalayan. The suspension and power of this new version is quite evident, she confirms.

Specs

The current Royal Enfield Himalayan has a 411cc engine. However, despite its robust chassis and electronics, the 411-cc single-cylinder, long-stroke engine has faced certain challenges. While it excels in delivering torque, its power distribution falls somewhat short, especially when it comes to highway performance. To address this issue, Royal Enfield is introducing a brand-new 451.66-cc liquid-cooled engine, expected to produce approximately 40 hp of power, with exact torque figures yet to be disclosed. This change has been received positively by a popular YouTuber, who believes it makes the bike more powerful and enhances its suspension setup.

This fresh engine will have a 6-speed gearbox. To accommodate this upgraded engine, Royal Enfield has redesigned the chassis to increase rigidity and use the engine as an integral structural component. The bike will have a wheelbase of 1,510 mm and a length of 2,245 mm. It is sage to say that the off-roading community is eagerly waiting for the new Himalayan. Upon its release, it will compete with models like the KTM Adventure 390, Suzuki V Strom 250, and the BMW G310 GS. We will get to know the pricing at the launch.
