Hero has priced the Karizma XMR 210 quite aggressively at just Rs 1.73 lakh, ex-showroom. The bookings are already open. On the other hand, the R15 V4 retails between Rs 1.82 lakh and Rs 1.95 lakh, ex-showroom. In this regard, the Karizma has a huge edge over the R15. People prioritising affordability over everything else could move to the Karizma directly.

Karizma XMR 210

The 2023 Hero Karizma XMR 210 comes with a robust 210-cc liquid-cooled 4V DOHC engine, capable of delivering an impressive peak power of 25.5 PS at 9,250 RPM and a maximum torque of 20.4 Nm at 7,250 RPM. Managing the transmission duties is a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip and assist clutch mechanism. To enhance safety, this model is also equipped with dual-channel ABS. The frame is constructed using high-tensile steel, ensuring both sturdiness and durability.

In terms of braking, there’s a 300 mm disc at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear. The front suspension features a 37 mm telescopic fork with an anti-friction bush, while the rear incorporates a 6-step pre-load adjustable gas-charged monoshock suspension system. The bike’s front tyre boasts a 100-section, while the rear tyre is wider at 140-section. The wheelbase measures 1,351 mm, while the seat height stands at 810 mm and the ground clearance at 160 mm. Despite its sturdy build, the bike weighs 163.5 kg. Additionally, the fuel tank has a capacity of 11 litres.

Yamaha R15 V4

On the other hand, the R15 V4 is also a mighty capable motorcycle. In fact, that is why it is so popular among the masses. There is a potent 155-cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 4V DOHC single-cylinder engine which generates an impressive 18.4 PS @10,000 RPM and 14.2 Nm @7,500 RPM of peak power and torque. It is paired with a 6-speed transmission with a wet, multi-disc clutch and quick-shifter. At the front, it comes with a telescopic USD fork with 37 mm diameter, while the rear gets a linked-type monocross suspension setup.

There are disc brakes on both wheels with a dual-channel ABS. The front disc is 282 mm and the rear disc is 220 mm. Also, it has 17-inch alloy wheels with a 100-section front tyre and a 140-section rear tyre. The bike weighs just 142 kg and has a wheelbase of 1,325 mm. The saddle height is a decent 815 mm giving the rider a commanding position. The fuel tank has a capacity of 11 litres. You could glide it over any bumps with a great ground clearance of 170 mm.

Because the Karizma XMR 210 is the newest bike launched in the country, it comes with tons of new-age comfort, connectivity and convenience features. These include an LCD instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, illuminated switchgear, and dual LED projector headlights with distinctive H-shaped LED DRLs. Adding to the allure is a first-of-its-kind adjustable wind visor, a dynamic dual-tone exhaust, a sculpted fuel tank, XMR body graphics on the fairing, and raised clip-on handlebars. This amalgamation ensures a host of comfort and convenience options for buyers. The bike comes in three appealing colour choices: Iconic Yellow, Matte Phantom Black, and Turbo Red.

On the other hand, the R15 also boasts tons of modern features. These include things like a digital display for speedometer, trip meter, fuel gauge and odometer, Bluetooth connectivity, dual horn, gear position indicator, a split-seat setup, sporty body graphics, ride modes, traction control, LED headlight, LED taillamp, LED turn indicators and more. That is the reason for the premium price which it commands despite being a 150-cc segment product. There are various colours on offer depending on the variant including Metallic Red, Dark Knight, Racing Blue and Intensity White and Metallic Grey.

Mileage Comparison

The official mileage figure for the Karizma is not available. But the R15 boasts an impressive fuel economy of 55.20 km/l. The small capacity efficient engine is the reason for that. We shall update this section once the official mileage numbers for the Karizma are out.
