Hyundai Motor India Sells Approx 2,000 Cars Every Day in May 2023

With over 48,601 units sold last month, Hyundai Motor India has registered a domestic sales growth of 14.91%. Meanwhile, the exports have grown by 22.63% on YoY basis

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), one of the most popular carmakers in India and even the largest exporter since its inception, has registered a total sale of 59,601 units in May 2023. The carmaker sold 48,601 units in the domestic market and clocked an export of 11,000 units. This corresponds to an YoY growth of 14,91% and 22.63% in the domestic and exports market, respectively.

Commenting on the May 2023 sales, Mr. Tarun Garg, COO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, โ€œWe are glad to announce a healthy double-digit sales growth for the month of May 2023 fuelled by our blockbuster SUVs, Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Venue. The recently launched all-new Hyundai VERNA again clocked strong numbers, while Hyundai EXTER, our soon to be launched SUV, continues to ramp up excitement amongst customers in the SUV space.โ€ย ย ย ย ย

Hyundai Exter

While new offerings, such as the latest Verna and the updated trio of Grand i10, Aura, and Venue, have helped Hyundai Motor India Ltd establish an even stronger foothold in the market, it’s betting big on its next all-new offering for India. Dubbed Exter, the upcoming micro-SUV will take on the Tata Punch and the Citroen C3. The few official images released so far reveal a bold design with several familiar design elements that one expects on a modern-day Hyundai. Up front, the Exter features the signature parametric grille flanked by projector headlights. The skid plate adds amplifies the bold character of the front end. Highlights of the side profile include diamond-cut alloy wheels, floating roof design and plastic cladding on the wheel arches and door sills. The rear-end features stylish H-signature LED taillamps and a rather giant skid plate.

The rear look of the Hyundai Exter was recently revealed through an official image of the upcoming Tata Punch-rival.

The Hyundai Exter will become the first-ever car in its price category to offer 6 airbags as a standard feature across the variant lineup. It will even offer keyless entry, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, emergency stop signal, and burglar alarm as standard fitments. Other safety features that the higher versions will offer include ESC, VSM, HSA, auto headlamps, rear camera, rear defogger and TPMS. The full features list is yet to be revealed bu the car will be sold with a segment-first dual dashcam. The Exter will be available with a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine that will pump out 83 PS of maximum power and 113.8 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT. Those looking for ultra-low running costs will have the CNG option.
