You would be surprised to see the kind of new-age vehicles being offered by Chinese auto giants.

A prominent Indian vlogger gives a walkaround tour of the 2023 Dongfeng Mengshki M-Hero 917. Rajni Chaudhary is a popular automobile on YouTube. She has been uploading videos of interesting automobiles from her recent trip to Indonesia for the Auto Show. The aim is to make Indian audiences aware of what’s happening around the globe in our glorious industry. This time around, she reviews a unique EV with over 1,000 hp. There is an IC engine with electric motors on this SUV. This Chinese EV could be a worthy rival to the iconic Hummer EV. That speaks volumes about its capabilities. Here are the details.

The overall road presence of this SUV is unlike anything else you’ll see all week. The rugged exterior includes a striking LED DRL unit in the LED headlamp cluster, a compact grille, a sturdy bumper built to protect the SUV, a hood scoop with air intakes, an indestructible skid plate, etc. On the sides, there are ginormous 20-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres, black side pillars and ORVMs, exposed door hinges for a raw appearance, side steps to enhance the ingress and egress characteristics, colossal square wheel arches with black cladding, flush-fitting door handles, body graphics on door panels, etc. At the rear, there are vertical LED taillamps, a shark fin antenna, a bootlid-mounted compartment which is made to look like a spare tyre but is just a place to store things, a solid rear bumper and a side-opening boot.
