Kinetic Engineering re-enters the two-wheeler market with the launch of an all-electric Kinetic DX.
Kinetic Engineering Ltd. has announced the relaunch of its iconic scooter, the Kinetic DX, in an all-new electric format. The company will offer the model through its EV subsidiary, Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd. (KWV). The new DX comes in two variants—DX and DX+—priced at ₹1,11,499 and ₹1,17,499 respectively (ex-showroom, Pune).
New Kinetic DX Styled in Collaboration with Italian Designers
Bookings for the first 35,000 units are now open at a token amount of ₹1,000 via the company’s website. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in September 2025. The Kinetic DX EV has been styled in collaboration with Italian designers. The scooter retains a strong metal body and familiar proportions, targeting both nostalgia and utility. The DX+ variant will be offered in five colours: Red, Blue, White, Silver, and Black. The base DX will be available in Silver and Black.
Battery and performance are among the highlights. The scooter uses a 2.6 kWh LFP battery sourced from Range-X, claimed to offer longer life and better thermal performance than typical NMC batteries. The DX+ has a stated IDC range of 116 km. The motor supports speeds of up to 90 km/h and includes three riding modes- Range, Power, and Turbo.

- Keyless entry (Easy Key)
- Retractable charging cable (Easy Charge, DX+ only)
- One-touch pillion footrest (Easy Flip)
- Telescopic front and adjustable rear suspension
- Front disc and rear drum brakes with combi-brake system
- Reverse and hill-hold assist
Smart features are also part of the package. The DX EV range supports Bluetooth connectivity, voice navigation, and music playback. A “My Kiney Companion” voice assistant is built in. The scooter also includes a CRM feature via a dedicated switch on the handlebar for quick customer support. The DX+ variant is equipped with additional telematics. These include geo-fencing, intruder alerts, real-time ride data, and features like “Track My Kinetic” and “Find My Kinetic.”
Kinetic has invested ₹72 crore into KWV and has pledged an additional ₹177 crore to support the DX platform. KWV was established in 2022 and operates a manufacturing facility spread over 87,000 sq. ft. Commenting on the launch, Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman of Kinetic India, said, “Reviving this icon was about more than just launching a scooter, it was about bringing back the reliability, innovation, and robustness that defined Kinetic for decades, giving it a future-ready soul.”The relaunch marks a significant step in Kinetic’s renewed focus on electric mobility. The company, best known for products like the Kinetic Luna and the original DX, aims to carve a space in India’s growing EV market with this revival.
